The female hostel got its name from the famous Queen Amina, the greatest northern female warrior. The hostel has been in existence for over 25 years and has the ability to accommodate over 2700 students. It is also considered to be one of the largest female hostel in Africa.It was recently renovated by the University in 2017, with ABUCONS NIGERIA LTD as the consultant for the projects.

This is a large female hostel.It was originally a male hostel which is now used by the female undergraduate and postgraduate students and is a NO ENTRY TO MALE STUDENTS.Its recent (and long awaited) renovation alongside the improved management has given it a much needed facelift.I hope this standard remains.
