Moonshine cafe was truly a memorable experience for me. I went in the afternoon, and had breakfast, I really judge a place by their pancakes!During my time there, the place wasnt crowded, which I liked, so I got myself a nice corner spot next to some lovely artwork and books. One can read the books as they wait for their order, and just wander away (thats so my thing)The food was sumptuous, and the portions were quite reasonable. The staff are friendly and the place is just a vibe...I went back on a Monday for brunch but found it closed. So be aware that they open from 4pm on Mondays. Overall great experience, would visit again when in Lagos!
I had a marvelous time here. I didn’t realize it was so big inside! This is the first time I’m visiting a brand new restaurant within two weeks of their opening. :-) The wait staff were polite but the only down side was that my frappe took too long to arrive- which is why I’m giving 4 stars. It has a retro feel, and the decor took me back to my childhood days which is a good thing. The food was fresh. I particularly enjoyed my fish( and chips). It was a quiet afternoon, that made it more enjoyable. They have a lovely looking outdoor seating area, that looks like a mini garden. I’ll go there again at night to see what the vibe is like then. The pricing is reasonable, considering the location.
Very beautiful location with a nice ambience. Perfect for groups, meeting with friends and some alone time. The menu covers breakfast, a bit of brunch and lots of pastries.I especially enjoyed their Vanilla Milkshake and Kiwi Delight drink. They also make a mean burger and sandwich yum!*I took away 1 star for their Spring Rolls. It had a strong curry/turmeric flavour that I didnt quite like at all.But Moonshine Cafe is an absolute love spot!
Nice atmosphere, wide variety of food, cafe and drinks. Upstairs more party-like, downstairs you find a quiet environment - good mix between work and entertainment venue. Outside seating is available. On the downside I would except coffee not to be served from single use cups. It would also be great if they would have calorie-free sweetener as a sugar alternative.
I came with my cousin to chill and chat up. First of all, I love the retro ambience and vintage vibes you get as you are coming in. Such a great concept. There is a sitting area outside made to look like gasoline drums. Its made up of 3 sitting areas. The café which is downstairs, then upstairs there are 2 areas; the bar where you can also dine in and the music/entertainment area where there is a DJ. It feels like a space you could book to have a small party with your friends. The food is full of flavour. From the starters, to the main and the dessert. The only thing was that I wished there were more options on the menu. I understand this place only opened up a few weeks ago, so there is always room to improve based on feedback like this. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. I definitely would go back to this place cos I enjoyed the environment.
I thought the fries couldve been better. They werent hitting the spot. The chicken wings were great! So was the milk shake. I sat out front and I liked the decor especially the dangling potted plants. It wouldve been nicer if there were more available food options and an ashtray on the table.
Came here with almost no expectations. Absolutely loved the service and the food was so filling!! The prices were decent and the portions were worth the buck.Everyone loved their order and had good things to say about their experience. Would definitely be visiting again. Its great for brunch with a friend or a group of 4-6. Really liked the decor and aesthetic of the space, felt like they were going for something reminiscent of the 60s Motown era.The space had some real nice IG worthy spots as well as some really chill ambient music - extra points for the amapiano! ;)
The drinks are good. Ive had Margarita and Trash can and some shots. The Magarita was amazing - the right mix if strong(alcohol) and sweet. The food is alright also.Im not a fan of the ambience and setting though. I dont really get the theme of the place. They also do Karaoke night on Saturdays and its fun.Not a bad place to hang with friends.
Firstly I have to applaud Restaurants that bring on their A game when it comes to making a spot pretty, have diverse sections and aesthetic. At Moonshine Cafe, there’s a patio, a cafe on the ground floor and the design on the first floor gives this lounge like feeling. The space:A beautiful space I must say! With contemporary, florid and artsy aesthetics.....impressive.The food:During my visit we had the American breakfast (comes with vanilla milkshake), sardine bread with scrambled eggs, and a Large latte. The waffles 🧇 were just OK (average)- could have been more buttery and milky. Lee boo had the full meal and in his words (the 🍯 saved the waffles), the bacon and sausages tasted as they should and the scrambled eggs were well cookedThe sardine bread was a MISS, I think the portions were too big for N1,500 and I’d have preferred if the quality of the bread was more and quantity less. The bread was lacking in flavours... I’d rather have Agege bread and Sardine really. The drinks: I didn’t understand the milkshake taste but I’m naturally not a milkshake fan so maybe y’all would enjoy it. I’m a coffee lover but I didn’t enjoy my latte, I found it weird that I had to request for sugar and it was served in a little saucer....My latte was also not served the way I would have liked (but they apologised so we good on that), for the taste of that latte I’m still out of words to describe it but it’s the first cup of coffee ☕️ I didn’t finish (made history).Verdict:Beautiful spot, I’m still going to give them a second chance later in the future as they have quite a diverse menu and I don’t want to judge only from a brunch perspective.Would I visit again, yes! But for now their food have not won my heart.
The service was really good. I didnt enjoy my order, i feel the food could have been better. Its a really chilled vibe
If yoy are looking for a quiet, serene, peaceful place that will give you a cool romantic ambience, Moonshine cafe is the place. The music is soothing and allows you have intimate conversations without interruptions and noise. Good food, professional staff and beautiful decor..
I had a great experience here. I loved the decor and the food was delicious. Only downside was that the waiter seemed clueless and confused sometimes. It’s either she was new or she needs more training especially when it comes to answering basic questions about the menu.
Went to this place a week prior and really enjoyed the music and ambience. Fast forward to last night and four of us have already had to go to the hospital. There were many food items that must not have been handled properly including the burger and the carrot cake. I feel so bad because I invited a large group for dinner there and also brought my mother some cake. We all ended up very sick including my mother who didnt even come but had some of the carrot cake. I even had to ask the waitress to take the cookie off my bill because I could tell that the cookie was old and she even informed me that the cookie was 2 days old. I I called the manager to let him know what had happened, but I want others to be aware and careful when eating here. I totally regret bringing my group to this restaurant. This experience has now ruined the last few days I have left in Nigeria becaude of how sick I am. For the prices they are charging they really should focus on ensuring that they dont get customer sick. In addition the service is not good at all. We were the only large group there in a somewhat empty restaurant and the waitress was not very attentive.
Moonshine is relatively a new place. It is still trying to figure out whether to be a coffee shop or a restaurant. At the moment its both plus a sprinkling of entertainment joint (live band). It has a good location in its favour. It needs a signature dish or pastry. The chairs are uncomfortable for laptop users. Theres an innocence about the place. Im rooting for their success and I will go there again and again. I will rate you 2.5 but Im sure you will climb in ratings quickly with a few changes.
Nice and cozy cafe. Good food too.
I can’t lie to you I was a bit shocked by their cocktail prices... I’m diving straight to the cocktail prices because at least if I’m not grabbing a meal, I should be able to bide my time whilst waiting for traffic to die down a bit, by drinking some cocktails. The cheapest cocktail was the margarita priced at N3700 every other thing was N4000, N4500 and above. This makes me a bit wary because it’s a lovely restaurant on a corner street off Admiralty Way so I’d have assumed it won’t be having Shiro-like prices. But to each their own, the cocktail was yummy though.
Amazing place.Exceptional service and meals, Affordable prices, lovely and amazing ambience, a lot of perfect picture spots too. I’m in love .
Moonshine cafe is not bad. Their long island comes in a big mug even though its a bit pricey. Their food is okay and well presented. The best part about the place is their DJ. He is the best DJ I have ever had the pleasure of listening to.
Love the ambience of Moonshine Cafe. As stated in the name, it’s a cafe. You are expected to buy things like pastries and milkshakes here. Ordering a bowl of Asun like I did is an absolute mistake. Stick to the aesthetics. Don’t say I didn’t tell you.Their milkshake is awesome. The carrot cake was also amazing.
Highly recommended if youre around the Lekki area 👌🏻👍🏻😎
Moonshine cafe has a beautiful ambience. A nice fusion of Nigerians and intercontinental cuisine. I really like the ice teas too!
Beautiful ambience, the chicken shawarma tasted good and the karaoke was fun. The karaoke dj is really good at what he does.Food a little pricey but within the range of other lekki restaurants.I had fun, would visit again soon.
Beautiful Restaurant with great service. S.EA Consulting did the interior work. The place is a must visit.
Scenery is cool, nice music but food is a bit pricey. The table was a bit low and the other that had a high table had a low chair😪Ended up eating the food from my lap😐
Beautiful placeQuite my vibeThey close early though
Was a refreshingly different scenario.Beautiful scenery, cool vibes. The DJ came correct.Youd like it very much.
Lovely chill spot. Great beef burger. So far...so good.
Creative deco, nice ambience, good service, Burger to die for though quite pricy and no bottle beer options for lovers of the real deal. One of my favourite hangout places.
Really nice and cozy environment, food is great, service is very good and they have karaoke very Saturdays night. If you are looking for a place to relax and unwind this is the place
We came her on a Sunday night randomly. I was looking for food and a place with some bakery nearby after a nail appointment. I am sooooooo glad we stopped here. They had a live band playing with drums. The music was amazing, but the food was even better. Probably the best burger I have ever had and their cakes are so moist and delicious. Will definitely be stopping back here before I leave Naija and this place will be a staple whenever I come back.
Loved the ambience, beautiful place, good vibes. For the average person though, very expensive
Went for the burger week promo but the Burger didnt meet our expectations. I enjoyed the live band.
My Friend is the head chef of this restaurant and not to be bias, this is the best tasting food in Lagos! Great ambience and great experience overall. Would 100% recommend.
A most relaxing ambience. Warm staff. Great service.
Great atmosphere food and drink, staff are really friendly too.
Love the space! I’ve been there once or twice. Had some of the best food ever in a Lagos restaurant, trust me when I say, the next time I’m on the Island, I’m making a stop!
Loved the ambience and wall art, the food was great and the staff helpful. Although the food takes a while to come out.
Im still here waiting for just a club sandwich order and fries, over 40mins now and Im not sure if or when itll arrive, I only came here because of the reviews I saw on the gram but this is just wrong. To think that the waiter only just came back to me now almost an hour after my order to clarify what I ordered and I asked her why now? Ive been waiting and still waiting. At this point I just want to eat and leave.
Amazing....service is great...Dj craze is amazing....I love it...making it my favourite spot..🥳
Cool, comfortable, friendly staff
Beautiful interior and great food.
The cafe was aesthetically pleasing and has a cosy ambience
Lovely place. Beautiful Ambience.
Nice place but the waiters were late in clearing the table after
Not too bad. Decent food. Nice ambience
Would like to visit again
Great Ambience, great service
I think it was ok. Main DJ music didnt start until 8:30 on a Friday. I loved their banga rice but not the heavily spiced Asun. Overall the place was ok. Nice concept with the cave and antique setting etc. I hear their karaoke Saturday nights are also great.
Slightly pricey, not sure I enjoyed their milkshake which was more whipped cream than actual milkshake 🥴
Good service delivery and welcoming atmosphere
8/10, it’s like going to a bouggie version of starbucks.. Food✅ ambience ✅decor ✅
