A very private dining in Victoria Island. I went there for a birthday party. So it was just we the guys that used the whole space and it was decorated, they provided music and sound which was on a 100%The waiters are extremely professional and friendly. Food tastes perfect. The ambience is so cool and stunning. A perfect date location in Lagos to try out!
A great location to have a good date. The venue transcends into an amazing night club later at night.
I wish I had Photos but trust me if you see the videos of Velvett in my phone that enough will get you hyped to visit Velvett.
It’s a very fun club.. the DJ dictates the vibe but they have great DJs most times.
Vellvett is one interesting nice and clean restaurant I was in for my brothers birthday. How I forgot to take pictures of interesting menu 🙉..Their range of finger foods was really really nice, I mean nice and the drinks mmmmm, can only say watch out for their unique in-house drinks, they are very generous with sugar. It came with mint leaves and some lemon, really nice till I saw the sugar that settled below... 😀.Great and friendly staff I must add
Great place. Good music. Lousy long island though. And it always gets so full
The best night club i have been to in Lagos yet. almost perfect, apart from the too many hoodlums on the street and the unorganised parking space. But still quite safe
Velvet is a great place to have good food and chill (its actually the restaurant formerly called Piccolo Mondo, off Adeola Odeku in Victoria island). The ambience is nice and calm, the decor looks great and the food is good; so are the drinks though my cocktail was a bit too diluted (not a big deal though). The waiters are also attentive and responsive. All in all its quite a cool place.
Vellvett is a great place to unwind. It had an outdoor first floor lounge with natural green coverings from surrounding trees. Its adorned with pictures of Japanese geishas, oriental art works and related pieces. The Vellvett restaurant is hands on, guaranteed to cater to varying culinary interests and the lounge boasts an enviable night time motley crew of loyal fun seekers guaranteed to make your friday night bingeing delightful. Parking may be a challenge as vehicle owners literally have to park along the road but it compensates for that by providing security. The transformation from a daytime restaurant to a night time party haven is simply put, amazing.
Lovely place. But way too crowded.
Best dance bar around town
Music was too loud, but great ambience, lovely crowd and decor and had a great time.
If you’re looking for classy food in a comfortable, funky lounge setting, you’ve found it here at the Vellvett Grill Lounge & Bar. Set in a modern refurbished building in Victoria Island, Lagos. Vellvett is one of the new wave of chill out zones that really pushes Lagos nightlife and gastronomy to that new level. The modern but simply decorated lounge is tastefully adorned with red and yellow velvet lounge chairs lining the bar- somehow combining to guarantee class, comfort and style. The restaurant also offers two VIP areas, spot lighting and a private room for the discerning. Besides that, the service is impeccable and the bar staff well-trained to make even the most bizarre cocktail concoction. There is a relaxed and very cool feel to this place. Vellvett Lounge is at its heart a serious restaurant. The house menu offers intense gastronomic variety with Oriental and Mediterranean options but it’s in the classic cuisine that Vellvett stands apart. Vellvett’s menu will take you on a gastronomic voyage around the world. But don’t be fooled, their chief specialty is definitely grill- grilled lobster, kebab, steak, salmon and chicken.
Freaking loved it... polite and cultured attendants, serene environment and tasty food... Met all expectations.
Recently re-opened post-Covid lockdown. Seating arrangements spaced out and you will need reservations. Good music but low energy on this Friday as it was first night reopening and not crowded. Felt more loungy than clubby.Food still tops but their risotto rice base is plain par boiled rice and not real risotto rice (eg Arborio). Also missing the mushroom taste and cream. So tonight...Average overall.
Small, choked, smoked up, and expensive.
Loved the food and the ambiance
Very good customer service....lovely food.
Good place, good service
Not a bad place. I have to visit again to give my opinion about the place 😊
Fun club. Nice vibes great music.
Can get over crowded on Friday and Saturdays
Good music and ambience. Drinks a notch expensive though.
Excellent. I had good experience here.
One of the best dining experiences ever. This restaurant embodies good service. And the food is excellent too. The lobster and shrimp lasagne is an absolute must try. The lamb cutlet platter is so tasty youre tempted to ask for seconds. The base for the seafood pasta is second to none. This is one of the few restaurants I would recommend. The building also houses Japanese and Lebanese restaurants . On the weekends, the restaurant turns into a club with great DJ and music
The night time is really groovy down here
It a very attractive lounge you wanna visit
Nice environment and good vibes
Best place to be on weekends !Do not forget to taste the food... Amazing
Please make a reserved when visiting, the lounge is always crowded. It’s a classy one
Cool hang out and chill place in Lagos. Music on point great alcohol selection cute assistants. However the place is always packed probably you may need to get there early to get a seat.Fun place!
Great service and very good Air Conditioning, which is key
Extremely packed club. Recommended to go early. Forget about it if you don’t get a table. The amount of traffic you will have to fight through to get to the bar would make you wish you brought in your own moonshine. Regardless the club is definitely “lit” as the young ones say. The music span brought back many memories. The DJ was fantastic.
The Atmosphere is serene and good service
Fun times
Nice. First class.
An absolute fav for Lagos nights
Great ambience for afterhours hangout but dont eat here, had the worst tummy ache for over a day after eating here! Worst experience ever!!!!
Looking for a club in Lagos, this is the place to go.Was there with a couple of friends over the weekend and it was great.Awesome DJ too and all round great vibe.I was there on a Friday night, so it was quite packed. My advice is that you get there by 12am, latest, on a Friday night. If you want to get a table or at least a decent place to seat before it gets really full.
I really cant visit the place again because they have low regard for women who are not in the company of men.Visited with some friends cos one of us was celebrating her birthday but we were refused entry as we were only women. That perception need to be changed.
Simply wow. The setting, the music and the service. Celebrated with some friends here and they had us dancing till the early morning. Loved it
Interiors are quite old
Packed... Just how is supposed to be
Cool nd nice
It was okay. Cocktails were great. Got there early evening so house music was playing. Music got hot at about 9pm
The boss is a nice person, nice foods.
Best place for drinks and parting
Always chock full of people, with no wiggle room. Tables are set pretty close to one another. Sucks because the music is good but theres hardly any space to dance. Oh, and theres only Gordons dry gin as the ambassador for any G&T drinkers! Tanqueray 10 was on display, but only sold per bottle not shots; whiskey had more options.
Always loaded to the brim. Though not much spacious, enough to accommodate a small gathering of friends.
Great place was there on Friday night. The DJ was fantastic with his old school mix from the nineties. We had a mid-age crowd of people rocking to the beats.
You cant go wrong with Velvett. The music is just fantastic; the vibe is too right; and the ladies that show up there are just something else... I can go there every Friday and not get tired. You dont have to pop the most expensive champagne to feel great... the crowd is mature and decent.
Super crowded. But I guess that is the vibe. The Crowd loves it. Service is on point. Dj let the music play 5 seconds more... music selection is little. Lets dance
I had fun to the ultimate level
Tasty food. Great ambience for relaxation and eating. Courteous and respectful staff. Nice place to be.
The ambience is beautiful with a sophisticated feel. Customer service is excellent with attention to every little details. The crowd too is decent and the music is subtle enough to allow for a very quiet conversation.Parking space is an ish, but that is just a luxury very few restaurants can boast of in Lagos. It was a pretty spot for my anniversary.I will visit again.
Nice club, awesome ambience
Oh mehn!
Just there. Very poor DJ, expensive drinks and nearly freezing temperature ambience. Many women also turn up here
Vellvett is nice enough but its a really small space so tends to get packed and cramped pretty easily. Some people like a full house (Im sure the owners do) but if youre not in a cordoned off section it can be quite frustrating. This is obviously very subjective
Great environment to visit
Fantastic
Nice bathrooms.😁😉
It is a nice hotel in a serene and secure environment. Rooms are big and thats good. They need to be more secure about their place.
I am not usually in the habit of writing critical reviews, but I feel compelled to do so. My friends and I (a group of 4 ladies) visited Vellvett on Friday, 21 February, 2020, to mark one of our birthdays, and we were greeted with total disregard and lack of courtesy on all levels.Firstly, we were requested to vacate an unreserved table, to our utter dismay. In addition, one of the attendants was extremely rude to the point of us walking out of the club. Needless to say, we will not be visiting the club or restaurant in the nearest future. It is indeed rather pathetic that such a business is jeopardized by incompetent employees, and may do so to the point of collapse, if not addressed.
Cool
Nice place to hangout
Vellvett is an amazing place to go to, it gives you a different feeling. The food wonderful, the environment chilled, customer service isnt at its best, well I wont say much about that but I know they can do better.
Nice place to cool off
I loved it here. The DJ(s) is a (are) beast(s)!!!The lounge is rather small but cozy enough; and the menu is decent, if rather pricey. But that is to be expected.Youll love the crowd. People here are not hangers-on. They came to spend money and have a good time.Parking is a hell but youll be good if you tip the street urchins about N500.You definitely should check Velvett out.
Cool place
Although Im not a big fan of the recent renovations (they converted it to a lounge feel, as it turns to a club at night, but its now dark and dingy). Yet, it is still one of my favourite restaurants in town. Good Food, friendly staff. We had a problem with our burger, so could only take a few bites, but they were ready to prepare another one for us on the house, and were sad when we said we were in a hurry so couldnt wait for that to be ready.
Great place to relax. Cool music and delicious meal
Smh
Had a great time with my friend, her cousin and husband and his friends on Friday night. Both of us in Lagos for the first time. The music and atmosphere were incredible. We bought several bottles and had the best time during my 10 day stay in Lagos. We returned the very next day where we were refused entry because there were no men with us. The bouncer was incredibly and unnecessarily rude, even acknowledging me by name from the night before. Another group of guys overheard us complaining and offered to help by saying we were their friends so we could go inside (something that really shouldnt need to happed). On the way in my friend pointed out to the bouncer he didnt have treat us the way he did, he then said she disqualified herself from entering and had to find as he put it another man who wants to bring her inside. An altercation even broke out between the men who tried to help us, because they didnt agree with how we were treated either.Truly setting the wrong standard for the next generation of young women; because apparently our money is of no value in the absence of a man.
The only place to turn up. Cool crowd. Gets packed very fast on weekends
The food was great. Music wasnt too loud. Definitely gone back there a couple of times after
Alright. Would have got more stars were some of the staff more polite and if phones didnt go missing from there as often as they do. I have been to other restaurants/bars very frequently and never had a phone disappear but its happened there several times in just a short amount of time. Otherwise its a good place for a night out.
A cosy atmosphere
Not a bad place for Friday night club. The last time, DJ was so bad for most part. Otherwise, cool ambience.
