I visited the park around the stadium and took some lovely photos, the places are really beautiful and walking distance from the stadium.

Sparkling FM is my go to place. I have friends around so it is easy. Their staff have a warm reception. There is also a bakery just around so fresh bread is always available.

Amazing place for sporting activities. You can also get your jogging outfits here too with a good bar to chill with friends.

The football pitch is really nice and looks lole it was recently renovated. It has natural grass which is still very green considering the period of the year.The basketball practice area is also very nice. I couldnt access the pool but the vicinity looked very unkempt.The stadium is generally small, with bits of uncompleted and unmaintained areas around. I guess like most other government facilities in Nigeria, maintenance is a big problem.I enjoy my stay there though, the officials were nice and welcoming.

This stadium is gorgeous. It has a couple of training pitches outside the main bowl. It has natural grass and its well maintained. It has a reasonable capacity. Some of the seats in the pavilion of the stadium are covered while others are not. It has a very nice structure. It has a good track field for the athletes. It is the home ground to the Cross Rivers state owned football club; Calabar Rovers. Its has good floodlights too and I think it has served as home for the national team; Super Eagles of Nigeria. Though as at when I was there, there were other renovations going on around the stadium just to make it more beautiful.

Went for basketball, I had an awesome time

It was a nice moment as I joined thousands of participants at the U. J. Esuene Sports Stadium during the City Wide Invasion Gospel Bell Crusade anchored by the Assemblies of God Nigeria South South Zone 4 in these sports facility occupying a vast portion of land in the heart of Calabar, the Capital City of Cross River State.It was indeed memorable.

It is actually a good stadium... My visit there was for the show hosted by the government in conjunction with the Calabar Carnival... It was my first time attending the Calabar Carnival, although many said the 2017 carnival did not meet their expectations, they still choose to remain happy and we all walked down to the stadium for the grand finale. All in all for me it was a good experience...

U. J. Esuene Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium in Calabar, Nigeria. History. It is currently used mostly for football matches and this is the home stadium of Calabar Local football team. It is renowned for its neatness, though proper maintenance needs to be maintained to retain its standards. I have played here a couple of times, the sports shops are still spot on with good security and safety measures compliment this historic stadium.

Built in 1977.This multi-purpose stadium is named after the late Brigadier Udoakaha Jacob Esuene, who was an air force officer who became Military Governor of South-Eastern State (now known as Cross River State).Initially opened as a 25,000 capacity stadium, it was reduced to 18,000 seating capacity to meet FIFA standards. Featuring a well maintained grass turf and standard running track with ultra modern video-matrix scoreboard and floodlights, an ultra modern OBS media center and a steel perimeter fence, it is one of the most popular and used stadiums in Nigeria.The current state of the stadium is deplorable due to poor maintenance.

The stadium has suffered gross neglect in the past 5 to 6 years and a lot of upgrading needs to be done. Place has been poorly maintained.

Most facilities are dilapidated, as with Nigerian installations but they are still functional.

It was once an international standard facility, state of the act Stadium but now its all a mess, even some structures are crumbling. I believe its because our present Government doesnt really care about sports, which is why theyre not empathetic enough to complete any of the tasks left behind by the previous Government or even himself. Like his ambitious goals he spoke about. He hasnt even repainted it, the stadium requires so many upgrades and renovations. The swimming pool hasnt been touched in years now. Yet, the carnival and other events like ; crusades, campaigns and rallies are held there. I believe it needs renovation and proper maintenance, becauses its dilapidated and its an eye sore. For its location this really damages the image of a clean and green Cross River State. Its hard to believe our Government drives through o that route and hasnt been touched by the sight of the stadium which has fallen apart. 😣😣

A normal, mess than standard sport facility

Good access roads and points.This stadium is strategically located such that it can be accessed from all sides of the town.All the four walls of the stadium grants access to different parrs of the town.You have access from the Airport,the old Calabar, from the highway and from naval base and house of assembly quarters.Also, you hardly experience dense traffic from any of these routes.

Its Just very cool. has a lot of wonderful sit outs. Tho may not be the countrys official match stadium, but its still worthwhile visiting

A functional stadium with lots of facilities. A beehive of activities where you see sportsmen and women training day and night to be on top of their games. You can also get sportswear and other kits there. The Gymnasium is good as well.

Its very spacious for every event. Just like The Centenary celebration of the Ancient of days Great Leader OOOBU, that number million of faithful BCS children the world over whose grace the occasion
