Golden Tulip Essential hotel looks great. I liked the rooms and bathrooms. There are different grades of rooms and all of them comes with a different amount. The lowest grade (deluxe) doesnt look too nice. Executive looks better.You can try it out when you are in Benin-City.

The hotel has a beautiful ambience and friendly staff.My major problem here was the fact that people could smoke anywhere. I had smoke seeping into my room and this was very uncomfortable. Although there were smoking and non-smoking zones, this was not observed and implemented and upon complaint to the hotel management, nothing was done about it.Also, the complimentary breakfast has very limited options.

Neat hotel, but can be better. The staff are professional and responsive. I think it is no longer what it used to be. A bit pricey for the size of rooms they offer. They need to up their maintenance too.

Front desk very professional. Rooms airconditioners needs to be checked atleast weekly to ascertain the serviceability.

Nice, clean and very comfortable bed, bathroom was very clean. The room was well kept. If you are in Edo state, Benin city, I recommend this hotel.

Its so cool and the customer service is so nice

4 star is just about only because of my experience when I went in to meet a client. I dont want to discredit them or anything. I dont know the rules and regulations of the hotel so Im not going to judge but if what I experience was prohibited then I think a rule was broken. No doubt its huge hotel offers something different in that area. So it is what it is.

Clean rooms with new equipment, hot and cold water, delicious food. Very nice!

The hotel is definitely below the standard I expected. The room was very basic and there were many signs of decay. The restaurant didn’t have a great variety for breakfast and it was really hot and uncomfortable to eat there.It didn’t wow me at all, and I may not be going back there again.

Highlights: The location is ideal, Staff were courteous, their standard rooms are okay, Their buffet complimentary breakfast is top notch!!! Low- lights: The rooms are not well illuminated, the TV not so modern. The bed spread and pillow cases were not so clean and I wasnt impressed by the restroom and its hygienic condition at the time. But I had an awesome time. And I strongly recommend this hotel!

Not sure how this is golden tulip. You get to remind them to turn on the ac in the hot restaurant. The buffet is the most empty and miserly ever seen.

This might be a slightly unfair review since ai only stayed in the Standard room but I expected it to be more decent. The room stank of cigarette smells, the TV picture quality was horrible and the bathroom drain was clogged. I prayed for dawn so I could leave. Perhaps the other types of rooms available are better. But trust me when I say you should avoid the Standard.

With the increase in patronage after lockdown they seem to be taking their clients for granted.I noticed in my recent visit they have a new rule that you cant Wash your car anymore in the parking lot even when it is covered in bird droppings from the trees in the lot.Thid is sad and inconsiderate.The kitchen staff I met was also quite rude.i hope they fix their PR Dept to do a better job in staff orientation.Standard rooms here are a mess.

VERY RUDE AND ILL MANNERED FEMALE RECEPTIONIST. SHE NEEDS TRAINING. She hung up the phone when I called to make enquiries, after speaking rudely to me.

It has a nice outdoor pool and outdoor bar, nice and comfy room and a gym center. It also has nice staffs.

I would have rate it 5 star if I was able to see the rooms but with the little I saw I can say its one of the best hotel in Benin.It is not of a local standard but if international standard. I am marveled with the level of organization and structure given to the place.Though I believe the security measure can be better because I see that the place is not looking well secured.

Very nice and cool, the Receptionist were perfect and the environment was magnificent too..

The hotel is decent.It has a fairly stable internet connection and is situated in the GRA close to a police station so security wouldnt be a cause of concern.The hotel staff are mostly cordial.The rooms are also decent and quote fairly priced.The complementary breakfast is an added advantage too.If you love swimming then you will enjoy the pool.It also helps that the hotel is less than 15 minutes from the airport.Howbeit, I visited the hotel while the Coronavirus was still a concern and I cant say the hotel complied with the health guidelines/protocols. Most of their staff werent using masks.The place is also not very disability friendly as the facility hasnt been upgraded to accommodate the needs of people with disabilities. I would expect that from brand like Golden Tulip.Overall, I will score the hotel 65%.

I don’t know about The Custodian but my first experience at The City Dweller was a disaster. Even at the discounted rate of N15000 per night I expected a much higher standard than what I experienced. The room facilities was so poor, the TV was been held up by the folder inside the room, you remove it and the TV comes tumbling down, The bedsheets were so hairy, the white towel in the bathroom had turned brown. The table lamp broken and without bulb. Requested for hot water and it took them ages to bring the hot water. The only consolation was the housekeeper that came the next day and was able to give us sheets that were better than the previous day though there were stains on the sheet. Probability of going back there is zero with my experience.
