Still one of the best places for a quiet hang out. Has a book club and nice shaded outdoor area. Food is good - relatively pricey.
I had a great time at Salamander. Its peaceful and quiet. The service is amazing. If youre new in town, you should definitely check out salamander.
I love having breakfast here on weekends. Quiet and open garden space is calming. Small bookstore where you can read as well. The service standard fluctuates sometimes but they are receptive and always willing to do better.
Great food and all but and nice ambience. The food was tasty and u loved every bit of it. Though I feel maintenance works should be conducted in other to give the place a more welcoming view. The interior looks tacky though I dont know if its a deliberate act by the owners but I feel they need to give the place a lift. Great food no doubt and the books for sale should be upgraded too. We have very few books from few Authors.
Salamander Cafe is my half-cut between a secret magical library and that place where you want to snuggle up in as time trickles by with a warm cup of black tea, lime juice and honey. Try it.
Nice place to chill or work on a Saturday morning. It is stylishly decorated and spacious however some corners could use an extra cleaning. The Big Breakfast has good meal plans but the lunch options can be improved. It is also a bookstore with a good collection of books by Nigerian authors. Menu Items are reasonably but not cheap. Servers are nice. Overall it is good place to spend sometime.
One of Abujas oldest cafes if not the oldest. Book lovers can feel right at home in the book corner that has a great selection of books from mostly Afrucan authors. Not a long has changed over the years but that something that would please loyalists. It has both indoor and outdoor sitting and is great for group meetups. It could do with better customer service in terms of how responsive the waiters are.
Nice cosy place. Not crowded. The dishes were good.
Cozy place to hangout. They have intercontinental dishes and sitout
The food here is great and so is the service!! The portions are actually big, so very filling. We sat outdoors and the ambience was lovely; we didnt get a chance to go inside but I hear they have books and that should be interesting. The vibe is great, the greenery, the colours, all contribute to make this a wonderful spot. The only let down is pricing, it is quite on the high side, but also not all too surprising for Wuse 2. Altogether a great experience. Im definitely coming back for the books and more good food!
Salamander is the top of tops cafΓ©s. Nice environment ππ
Its a cool place with variety of dishes. You wont regret going there.
This is a very cute looking CafΓ©. Its got those feel-at-home touches that you see in most good CafΓ©s and youll like to hang out here. However, the customer services is below what I expected. Theyre were not proactive and lively as one will see in some other CafΓ©s that makes you want to come back.
Très expensive but somewhat worth it. Relaxing ambience.
Is good, give a try you will love it
Nice. It has an indoor smoking room for those that smokeπ
Lovely atmosphere for working, relaxing and just an alte feel. Although, I feel the meals are unreasonably priced. My favorite part is the reading area.
Good reading or work environment but no food service
If you need a quiet place to sit and discuss or you wish to just chill alone then this place works.... and the food is great!!!
Salamander Cafe is a nice place to work and hold your meetings.. Whether business or leisure... Its wonderful everytime...
For one, the prices seemed to gone up but besides that the homely feel and couch set up are real nice and very comfy. Good spot for freelancers needing a place to do some work.
Still lovely! Cosy for reading and dining
Their food service is great. Despite them having a 10% service charge and a 7.5% vat fee, I really wanna eat their again.
Amazing food and environment.
Good food with an excellent local library for both kids and adults.
Chilled cafe with good customer service. Had breakfast and dinner here and it was really good.
The food was excellent
Homely. Good job Sal
Lovely vibe, and the tofu scramble is to die for!
Its so cool and serene. Love the place anytime of the day!
Rustic traditional setting. If youre a little afrocentric or you love books or both, theres a nice little corner just for you. The atmosphere is serene and the food is great! Whether youre a solitary diner or in the quiet company of friends, theres a perfect spot for you.
Needs new ideas
Such a quaint little spot.Tucked in the middle of quietness; perfect for reading with a cup of coffee (though the coffee, supposedly Americano, wasnt a good one per se .. didnt taste like a typical Americano, for the taste critics we are. So, we hope to taste their Salamander Special Coffee soon), but worth it when you desire some peace and serenity.By the way it has a cute book/reading place, but with the TVs in the main restaurant, youll have to sit outside to read/think.Perfect for photos, too. With effective car security when parked.
Salamander Cafe is absolutely beautiful. Cosy, relaxing. Perfect for some Me time and for a hangout.I totally recommend the Chocolate Cake, tastes amazing. Staff are quick to respond. I cant stress enough how beautiful the scenery is even though I have a bias for places that look like a coven for artists.
Nice and serene as usual
Nice, cosy, serene spot but a bit pricey.
Good food but a tad bit expensive down to water and soda.
Inconsistent is the word.Food wise - I ordered the full english breakfast and I didnt enjoy it one bit. The baked beans were awful. My friend got the big Nigerian which wasnt that bad, it was more corned beef than egg but maybe thats how its done. The service wasnt that great either, the waiter Gbenga was only aware of one customer and ignored the other completely which was just ...
Way too over priced compared to what is served. Great selection of books, but wouldnβt recommend the food or the coffee. Nobody wearing a mask inside, so risk groups stay away.
Nice place. Thomas was great
Overpriced food, decor was nothing special. Staff sat indoors the entire time, we had to wave for their attention and not a single face mask was in sight until we demanded our waiter wear one. Iβm scared to even think of if the kitchen staff wore any. Book selection wasnβt that diverse either. This place gives off a vibe that it used to be better maintained.
Serene and beautiful environment . Courteous staff and the food is amazing . Would go there again and again
Nice ππ
A very nice place but needs some little renovation, most especially the pop.
Sad sad sad... Salamander is not what it used to be... bad service, food was not good. Its a real shame... one of my old time favorites never to be repeated.
It was my first time here after hearing a lot of good reviews from friends. I must say I wasnt dissappoint ed. The food was lovely and our waiter was very pleasant. The outdoor space is ideal for some cool natural breeze while you eat and chat. I am not a fan of salads but this one was different in a positive way ofcourse. I think it was called Salamader Crobb or something like that lol
Nice environ and menus
I was totally in love when i stepped into this place. It was serene, lovely and quiet. Staff very friendly. Heard it has been in existence for years and obviously well maintained. They have an area dedicated for just Nigerian and african books. I bought *baba Sege wives*. Its totally cozy. If you love to read books, then this is the place to be. Very quiet. There was free wifi and food delicious. It is my go to place when i want quiet and peace
Great place to sit and read, they have a mini library, continental dishes, quite environment. Neat and contemporary.
Good place for family hang out
I had breakfast with family!
Vibe is just great. You can go alone or with friends and enjoy yourself. Food is a bit pricey but good. I really go largely for the atmosphere.
A Cool Place To Be
Nice place , toilets not that great & no wifi
First time for brunch there. Had a basil, tomato, Brie and egg white omelette. Tasty although not much Brie in it. Service adequate. Other people at the table had liver, onions, with potatoes and eggs. One person had to send the eggs back, overcooked. High service charge here!! So no tipping
Nice ambience. Cool spot. You can chill. Eat drink and read here. They have a very calm atmosphere at salamander. You can take coffee or a normal snack and drink
Food was delicious and the staff were polite. Cute spot for date night.
Nice breakfast there. Very tasty
Calm, quiet atmosphere. Okay service.Quite overpriced though
Nice cafe, at least offering eatery services which at this post knockdown era is scarce. Nice deals!!!
To be honest I didnβt know what to expect given that I had just heard about the place a few minutes before. I was however blown away by the flavor of each meal! I tried my boyfriendβs steak and eggs as well and that too was exceptional. I will be back.
I love the ambiance and the serenity of this upscale book club/coworking space.
First thing to know about this place is unlike Google Maps says its actually NOT on Aminu Kano but on the street behind it Bujumbura. The food was really really delicious. Its kind of an upscale version of Lagos Bogobiri, complete with high prices and accomplished artwork (Karo Akpokiere works were littered all over the place!) that being said and why I havent rated it higher, the service was a let down. Waiters were sour, defensive, dismissive and slow to respond when I asked about the rooms poor, too warm temperature; when I asked about a socket to plug my devices while I worked; when I asked about my bill. An overall good experience but made memorable by bad waiters.
Cozy spot. Theres room for fine dining downstairs and there are spaces to cuddle with a book while you read. The outside setting is nice too.Abuja Literary Society meets there every 3rd Friday for ALS Book Club where we review and discuss our book for the month and also have naked conversations.Nice place to get coffee too.
I love this place. Its tucked away, quiet, great food and lovely drinks for him and her. Their salads are to die for! Accommodating and very pleasant staff. Can go there everyday and twice on Sunday. Great for meetings and small meetups. Oh yeah, there is a pretty cool bookstore in there too.
Nice hidden spot to catch up on some work and relax. The food is good but quite pricey (not justified to me). Nice collection of books for sale. It is not a library so do expect some noise from other customers.
Lovely place. I only had eggs but I enjoyed being there. Great ambiance and service. Definitely recommend.
Amazing smokers room. Its very expensive but if you have a lot of work to do, it will be a good place to concentrate and study. Given you come before 5. when smokers arrive it becomes an unhealthy environment. But the entire cafe is beautiful the pound cake is Betty crocker premix cake so I was annoyed to pay 1500 for a microwaved premix sponge cake. Instead of a beautiful pound cake. that is cheating!!!! Hence the four stars!! Environment is clean and vibrant. Difficult to find the cafe but its a happy place with considerate staff. There are different styles rooms but the most amazing thing for me is the CALL BUTTON. You dont have waiters moving around making you feel hurried or intruding into your conversation. The toilet is very beautiful. Its an experience of its own.
Excellent ambiance, delicious, fresh food. Cute reading book with books available for purchase. Internet is a bit slow, so bring your book here instead of your internet surfing project.
It was okay and I loved the library vibes. But the staff were a bit too complacent and laissez-faire
So calm and serene!
It is tastefully designed to give a customer the feeling of a British Cafe. Its always a good spot for relaxing well having coffee or meal. Its suited for people that dont like noisy environment when having food and fun. Apart from their tasteful meals they also have impressive customer service backed by technology in form of a simple table-top alert button for calling the waiters
