Im looking forward to returning to see this museum in its true glory. I had a chance to visit in March 2021 and it was partially open. Im praying that by December this place will be open and the sculptures and paintings will return to their mounts and this beautiful museum will come back to life.

Ibibio Union Museum was built in recognition of the Ibibio State Union and the scholars that studied in different universities around the world on scholarship sponsored by the Union in 1929. The building is designed with the pictures and biography of the six scholars. The museum is located in a lush green beautiful park in the centre of Uyo along Udo Udoma Avenue. It is a fun place to have a picnic with friends for lovers of nature.

You all need to come & have a feel & experience of this place!

It is a great location for Birthdays and wedding Receptions. It has a photo Gallery and art Exhibition, depicting the history,information of Akwa Ibom people Culture, heritage, important events,tourism Sites and Historic places one Should Visit. Also pictures of Successful Akwa Ibomite who excelled greatly both home and Abroad, and Founders of the Ibibio Union. It aims to unify all Akwa ibom people Together with Dignity and Pride of our past and notable leaders and Founders,and our Rich Cultural heritage.It also has a Gym,and a great parking Space.

I was so excited to visit a museum for the first time. I had so much expectations, but on my arrival my expectations were deflated. First we were greeted by an unkempt surrounding, a once beautiful museum has been invaded by grasses and mismanagement. To my dismay we were told that only pictures are available for viewing although we would not be let into the main hall. So no atifacts was seen.So it happens that all we see in pictures and all we heard before our arrival was past glory.The museum is so beautiful with sites for good photography, it is surrounded by the once glorious unity park which has been permanently shut because of insecurity.It is quite serene with the keepers seated at the main entrance.

This museum, sometimes referred to as Akwa Ibom Museum Headquarters, is a good place to visit whenever you visit Uyo city. The museum also has a large expanse of well landscaped greens/lawns surrounding it.The museum has a lot of artifacts and works on display that will give you an in-depth look at the Ibibio indigenes. If you are not into museums, the park offers a scenic paved walkways/paths for a solitary leisure stroll, an evening jog and also provides a good ambiance for family picnic and leisure. The park features three water ponds and long paved paths with an expansive lush green lawn.

What a waste. This country can waste opportunities. For crying out loud,this place should be fetching the government millions on a monthly basis but no,its under lock and key.This is what the white man will employ tour guides for and charge us some good money to enter the park and museum.Nothing happening there, just go in and take pictures,nothing else.

Beautiful place, serene environment. If you love nature, this is the place for you. Ive been here so often that it may be my new thinking spot. Its also good for jogging and exercising on weekends. Good spot for your parties and other events. I only took away a star because I wish the museum was more functional.

Very spacious environment

Wonderful Park in surrounding environs.Lots of jogging trails,acres of green areas dotted with bamboo.Not much in the museum itself to see,seldom open too but this is about the only open air park in Uyo.Big plus for picnics,no1 spot.Minus,no lights at night.Leave at dusk.

It is beautiful. Especially at this time of the year Christmas with lots of artworks on display. If interested in visiting, December is the best time because the mass of land surrounding it is turned into a Christmas village, where lots of food, snacks and drinks are sold. Lots of activities like horse riding are available there.

Its a beautiful and artistic place. Its is housed in a very serene location. I definitely will like to visit again soon.

Lovely and serene

Very spacious and well thought out theme park. Good for relaxation, picnics, outdoor events. The Ibibio museum is also really cool, though its mostly locked and the environment usually unkept recently.

For the love of nature and calm and serene park surrounding the museum, its always d number picnic venue for me and my family and it has always been a pleasant sight to behold. Its popularly called Unity Park.The museum houses the culture and heritage of the ibibio people. Its a tourist attraction that can be invested on and developed to generate revenues to our economy.

I dont have much to say than the place is soft. As in really really soft. Pronounce the soft softly and you will get an idea how the place is soft.

A place of artifacts

Nice but structure he this eerie feeling and is killing the contemporary feel it usually gives when you get there the first time. The environment also has this romantic air, a good place for a picnic, and an unplanned excursion.

Lovely historical site. It is worth seeing. Add it to your bucket list.

I dont have much to say about here now, but the place looked so not functional and unkempt on the outside, I may be wrong though as I didnt go really close, I stopped at the ebb of the steps going up, as I didnt want to make a disappointing walk up those steps. Anyway, the aerial view is eye catchy.

Fun place to relax with the family and appreciate nature. Lots of open space to either play football or cycle or even exercise. Good for picnics and get togethers or even barbecue some fish or meat with friends and family at the weekend.Lots of space to park and lots of trees providing fresh breeze and shade.

Ibibio Museum is a nice place to hang out for to-be couples, lovers and even families. The serenity and warm ambience is second to none.

This is an open park with 90 percent grass, trees and vegetation! Its a nice place to hang out with friends and family members and even organize picnics. Most people use the open field for sports and football. Theres a building in the center of the park for photo exhibition and corporate events. Nice place you must visit, I give it 3star.

The Ibibio museum is in Uyo metropolis, off aka etinan rd. In there, theres a Gallery where art works are kept for public viewing and appreciation. Theres also a workshop where the work takes place before displaying at the showroom.

Locked up for most of the year with very poor maintenance. The grass grows wild and herdsmen bring cattle to graze. There are cattle droppings everywhere.

This is a special place for those of the ibibio tribe of the Akwa Ibom extraction in the heart of the oil rich south-southern part of Nigeria.the museum boasts of a rich collection of the rare antiquities of the Ibibio tribe. If you are a good student of history, and you have the ibibio culture as your focal point of study, then this place is a must visit.Its boasts of arts collections like the Expo masquerade sculptures. This sculptures recants and introduces you to the deep primitive believes system. Using the Expo group as a means or enforcer of the local customs.It also boasts of different artistic displays all aimed at taking your on a self discovery escapade. The guides and other staffs are quite friendly in addition to the fact that they know their onions well. There is always something(ibformation) new to take home.Anytime youre in the vicinity, nothing should hinder you from taking a proper visit.
