Just as expected of a federal university teaching hospital. Unfortunately the doctors were not available due to the ungoing strike.

This is A standard hospital owned by the Federal Government Of Nigeria, attached to its University- this University Of Port Harcourt. They have different departments, ranging from, accident/emergency unit, children unit, eye clinic, etc. They are doing very well in caring for patients.

Its a great place, the overall experience was okay, especially at the dental department, theyre professional although you may encounter one or two staffs that are probably having a bad, day everyday. But the majority are super friendly and chill.

I wont say everything is going on fine cuz we have lazy nurses that spoil the efforts of doctors. Its all good, they have tried to acquire different machines to meet up the latest that we have in the world. They are doing a great job,but it can only be better

Tertiary institution

This is basically one of the biggest tertiary medical facility in Rivers State. It serves as both a medical consultation center to the general public and a training facility for medical students of the University of port Harcourt. Its spacious and has large parking spaces. My issues with this facility is that it can be crowded at times and service delivery can be slow. Also, the amount of mosquitoes here is something else.

This Facility is the biggest in Rivers state and is generally accepted as having the best hands too.Having used their services personally, I must commend them. However, A lot of things are being handled with levity. The attitude of house officers ans nurses can be saucy.I believe Pediatricians should check up on newborns in the post natal ward routinely- before being discharged.BCG and other vaccines should be administered to newborns before being discharged.Ah yes, do something about the MOSQUITOES.Lastly, watch out. The doctors will profile you, guaging your income level before hitting you with barrels of tests, prescriptions etc.

University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital is a hospital that serves dual purpose; acting both as a training center for the medical students of the University of Port Harcourt, and yet serving the medical needs of the old eastern region. It is a federal government owned facility and was formally located at hospital road, old Port Harcourt Township. It is presently located at Alakahia, East West Road, Port Harcourt

There are lots of free spaces and walk ways, its not a congested or compacted space. Has a great car park, convenience centers (although you pay to use the public one) and the environment is clean as well.

Hospital is dirty, lots of leaking places, staff dont care for patients. My friend was in the male ward for 12 days and the room was swept only once! The bathrooms are puke inducing. Mosquitoes freely feed on patientsAnd when there was a feeble attempt at fumigation, they didnt consider those with respiratory issues. He had asthma and was right by the window... He died 2 days later after having an episode which ended with him slipping into a coma. Doctors are skilled but lack equipment. This place is horrible.

I wont recommend any star for this hospital. Its the worse hospital I have ever been to and take this from someone who has had many trips to a hospital in the past for several health issues. The hospital is dirty, you dont want to try using the toilets, you will get an infection just by standing in one, there are no nets on their windows, imagine being admitted for something else and mosquitoes bite the hell out of you, that might lead to malaria. The doctors and the nurses are the most insensitive beings I have ever met on earth, I always doctors and nurses should be caring to patients going through a health problem. The ones who work in this hospital are rude, they have a belief system which is every one who walks into their hospital is poor, the fact that you come there means you cant afford private health care, so they treat everyone in a despicable way.I had a terrible experience there on the 9th to the 12th of March 2017 and I feel angry every time I think about the experience. Who is in charge of supervising the doctors and nurses on duty because they act like gods? and Who manages the hospital? I cant believe that hospital is a federal one.
