When you talk about hospitality, the protea brand comes to mind. Spectacular service and good people with great customer service all around.Should we talk about the food? I was over fed all through my one week stay and was eager to try everything. (The room comes with complimentary buffet).It has a private pool of 1.4 meter dept that functions 24 hours, a 24 hours gym, double hall with projectors, a bar and library.If it fits your budget, then I recommend.

My time at Protea Owerri was relaxing. Adequate room services and amenities. Meals where very well prepared to standard.

The hotel afterall is a Protea property now part of the Marriott. The essential core brand value of Protea is still very presence albeit deliberately I guessed but critically the soul of the enlarged group can be felt both intrinsically and extrinsically. The ambience, feel and amenities have been appropriately teamed with their people to provide a haven for guests to relax, enjoy great meals and fun stay. As a Marriott Bonvoy Member, I am very satisfied.

A great place ... a lovely place.. serene environment... nice hotel and suite they have here... love the way the management scheduled the time for jazz and live band, which is nice and cool... no noise on a daily basis like musics and songs from a sound system ... classical music all d way... i love the settings...

Fine hotel with professional staff.

The gym has 2 treadmills, weights and few other facilities. The buffet is good. The Rooms are nice. Complimentary breakfast is available for a guest. Water is not complimentary with certain meals. The room service staff are very prompt and friendly.

Still really trying to make up my mind about this place. I think the rooms are small for the price. The ambience is nice. The breakfast is okay.

Had a couple drinks here. The bar was quite cozy with respectful staff.

Have the best time in the heart of IMO state

Best hotel in Owerri by a mile.If you have a phobia for dirty Naira notes, the ATM (which always works in contrast to those in many other Owerri hotels) on premise which dispenses only mint bills is the icing on the cake.

Good place, but terrible service. Treats customers poorly when it comes to food that customers have already paid for.I was fasting and couldnt eat at the time of the lunch, not knowing anywhere around there and not wanting to risk food poisoning eating outside the hotel, I tried taking my food and keeping it till Im ready to eat in the evening, the hotel staff refused; forcing me to sleep without food throughout that day.The next morning, a guest trying to take food along to the airport, was refused, forcing her to leave without eating.The sad thing is that these food had been paid for by the guests. Its the most terrible experience, especially in the area of food.

My first experience at Protea Hotel by Marriott Owerri was impressive. I enjoyed my stay there. The room is neat and comfortable. Theres provision of jug to prepare tea and coffee which was the highlight for me. The buffet meal was super delicious and they follow strict covid compliance. No access to buffet stand without face mask. Quite a number of channels to watch on the TV set and free Wi-Fi.

This is one hotel that is never opened to fraudsters for lodging in Owerri because they require a valid identity card to admit guests.

The surroundings was neat and well secured by mobile policemen....the room very neat and great customers service...buh the complimentary breakfast was only free for just perso buh my room guest i paid 6k for her food that she never ate because the rice was way over soft the stew was not great atall, the apple was spoilt abd we still paid the 6k regardless..

Back again to Protea hotel and I must admit things have changed for me.. of course it was elegant, classy, posh any of those adjectives the last time I was here but now customer service is better. You can see their obvious willingness to h2lp make your stay comfortable the dishes too have improved and simply everything about Protea screams comfort.. the only downside is still the size of the pool, I wish it were bigger and I need to point out they have conveniences dedicated for the disabled on the ground floor, thats just super.. keep it up Protea!

This is possibly one of the best (if not the best) hotels in Owerri at the moment. Every aspect of the hotel is quality - from the rooms, to the lobby area, meals, service, and overall ambience. I enjoy coming here. Though I would not recommend this place to try authentic Nigerian food. They do have good food but you can find tastier places in the city for traditional meals.

Was hosted to an official event over a 2 day period at this location which is about the no.1 hotel in Owerri. The ambience was nice and the hospitality of the staff was rather commendable.The poor state of roads in the city will almost make you catch the next flight out of the city but this hotel tries to make up for it in its own small way.

Clean good quality hotel. Friendly and courteous staff (front desk, housekeeping, restaurant). Clean beds, clean white sheets, nice environment. However, room wardrobes appear to be after thought (and do not really exist) for a hotel of this standard. Take your coffee unless you prefer decaf. The buffet is a good idea but not really worth 6k in Owerri.

Went for a seminar there. Homely, hospitable and neat. Located in a remote cool environment. I love the location. Absolute free from noise.

Posh hotel. Ambiance is good. The standard rooms are a bit small compared to other 5 star hotel. Can be considered a premium hotel being run by Marriott group. Good place to have some good rest, cuisine and family time.
