First, the vastness of Nnewi hits you with a daze. Its a surprisingly big town, brimming with commerce. I passed by the Igwes palace. Like me, you cannot pass there and not notice the huge palace exterior. Igwe Orizu III is the 20th monarch in Nnewi and one of the longest serving monarchs in Nigeria. He is well over 90 years of age. The palace is huge and the royal presence is heavy and appreciated by the people. It makes royalty pretty cool.
Igwe Orizu Palace is a beautiful place. I used the parking space there to park my car while I entered Eke Amobi marketto buy foodstuffs.
The godmother of historic.Seat to the traditional throne of the great city of Nnewi. Home of the Chief Custodian. The palace is a mix of ancient and modern structures.Their is a modern museum documenting the rich culture of Nnewi at the palace. If you visit Nnewi, youd do yourself a favour by taking a tour of the Palace
Cool. Close to the local market closed Eke Amaobi.
Highly respected traditional ruler and longest serving monarch in Anambra state Nigeria, as of 2021
This is royalty at its simplicity... A palace with rich history that embodies all that Nnewi means. The Orizu palace is very famous in Anambra State. One of the few Igbo royal families that their voice is respected.By the entrance of the palace, you behold an splendor of the Orizus dynasty. The palace is open to all people, and this can be linked to the freedom given to the subjects by His Royal Highness. The Royal highness, believing that all subjects are the same in all ramifications, abolish the Osu tradition, which had held a lot of people in bondage. The palace hold the Kings court, and a mini stadium that can hold up to two thousand people, where he normally celebrates his Ofala festival. This is a festival celebrated in Igbo land for the renewal of a Kings kingship. A very important Igbo tradition. The dignity of the name Orizu can be equated to the Palace. Truly, royalty, splendor, kingship are all the embodiment of the Igwe Orizu Palace, Nnewi. 👑
Its an amazing place with the oldest monarch in Igbo land... The entrance is a market, that show that is a home for all
I didnt go into the palace, but the outward appearance was nice.
I simply drove past the palace.

This is an ancient palace and historical museum of antiquity around the area. This is equally a landmark in Nnewi
The palace is awesome
Great experience
Ancestral home of the Igwe of Nnewi. Its quite a busy junction that has a market right in front of the palace.
Its a place for the king and his cabinet
Theres a nice market with enough packing space.
A very historic place, typical of Igbo traditional palace.
The roads are good but due to multiple junctions within a short distance, there seems to be frequent traffic jams especially during the yuletide when a lot of travelers pass through the area
Had a touch of ancestry about it.
Very good
Great place I have ever visited
Ìgwè Ọrizu Palace is one of its Kind. Not just about the edifices , but also the Personality of the sitting Igwe.(Ìgwè of Igwes- Igwe neje Uka). Needless to say, the Palace is 4.5 stars. It is a custodian of the Igbo Culture well represented by Nnewi town. In its commercial state, it booms. With a standard cultural Museum on the right side of the entrance to the palace, i know that more is coming there with time. We are all welcome to the Palace of Ìgwè Dr K.O.N Ọrizu III J.P (C.O.N)
