Faculty of social science is one of the faculties in the University of Maiduguri, Borno state. It comprises of five department namely; Sociology and anthropology department, Geography department, Mass communication department, Economics department and Political Science department. There are also Mini air - conditioned lecture halls. It also has labs like that of anthropology with consist of ancient /historical Kanuri cultural artifacts and equipments.
