Loved the ambience. Enjoyed the option of outside seating. Tried several dishes, the food was not bad at all. The music was a plus for me. An invisible DJ played continuous eclectic music ranging from Afrobeat to country to pop to R&B from the 80s to the present. Enjoyed the experience.

I went to the Kingfisher restaurant which is the waterfront. The food was very good. I ordered the lamb chops which was served on a hot plate . The vegetables were crunchy and the lamb was well seasoned . My colleagues had the seafood penne and a chicken salad .

When you think of having authentic Chinese is the lekki axis , Marcopolo Oriental should be the first name that comes to mind . The restaurant is spacious and well decorated with a variety of well made Chinese and Asian delicacies on the menu , you would definitely be spilt for choice . I advice you to pay a visit soon

I loved their meal though it didnt exactly arrive in time. The waiters will keep suggesting things to you to get you to buy more so make sure you ask questions and listen carefully so you dont incur more than you bargained but I did enjoy the meal. The ambience can be better for an upscale Chinese restaurant.Food is not cheap but not ridiculously expensive. Their noodles and rice falls around N4000 - N5000 for the medium size bowl and it can feed 2 or 3 people. 2 is more reasonable. If you want sauce, the price is also different usually around N4000 too. They have a service charge, Vat and consumption tax which rounds up to between 15% - 20% of your meal. Cant really remember which of the percentages but its not more than 20%. The mocktails are N2,500 and spring rolls are N500 per one with a minimum purchase of 2.All in all, Marcopolo is a nice restaurant to visit alone or with friends. Oh, did I mention they also have a sea side view.

The service is very poor and grossly unprofessional. The customer care rep needs to be trained on excellent customer service. I am highly disappointed because I really love the food here but I can never stand terrible service👎🏾👎🏾👎🏾👎🏾. You are not doing me a favour so cut with the attitude. This is definitely my last time

I love this new location, very spacious. One of the chinese restaurants that open from 11am. The food is average but the service is great especially Monday - the man that handles orders and reservations. Hes great. Oh they deliver too!

The restaurant was quite warm and welcoming. Adhering to all covid19 protocols, seats were well spaced and the room appeared quite airy. The service staff were on the best behaviour and quite attentive. The meal arrived on good time and was worth the wait. Portion sizes were quite decent and each item was very tasty. It was my first time here and it definitely wont be my last

Food is really good, though staff could be slightly more attentive. Portions are large and takes a while to arrive but totally worth it. There is a riverfront view, however you cant access it from the main restaurant building, youd have to exit through the back... Its also under a completely different management known as Kingfisher, you can enjoy the Chinese food inside and lounge out afterwards at the riverfront with a really great view. I recommend it.

Marcopolo offers excellent cuisine in a quiet environment. The waiters are professionals, and they dont get in your face.

The shrimps and pork ribs were good, as was the rice.The staff were courteous and very welcoming.Presentation of the food was basic. I had to shamelessly take home leftovers.However, while we were deciding on what to order, it seemed like the waiters were trying to get us to buy a bigger portion. One minute they say the medium platter is enough for three, the next minutes he was telling me a large is better for three people( maybe they get commission for convincing the customer to buy more 🤷🏾‍♀️).One of the waiters that served us also had a really really hard to ignore Body Odour. In a situation where the service is important to the wholesome experience; I don’t think it’s wise to have someone like that serve customers.Loved the food, drinks, decor, service, food( did I just say food again??! 😛) and the waterfront.They also have high-chairs for kids, so I’d say it’s kids friendly (except for when they have parties and you have a sleeping baby-like in our case).It’s also a great place to have parties. I think they have semi-private dining too. It’s also a great place to thrill an out of town guest, like a must-visit place in Lagos.It’s also quite pricey, but my advice is to go with a budget and stick with it.All things considered, it’s the best Chinese dining experience I’ve ever had.

Very fast service. Food was good and dedicated waiter was on point. First Chinese I will have and food is great with no sugary taste.They also have a ramp that is used for out door siting. It has white lovely chairs and flowers planted around. Flood lights, speakers and powerful DJ console is a great combo for a good party.They also have smokes and other vices that helps your evening relaxation be complete as you enjoy the music. There is also another outdoor sit out that overlooks the Admiralty road. This sit out works well for a cool non rainy evening.

I’ll start by saying that the best part of our experience was the service. The waiters were courteous, polite and professional. Everything else went downhill.The dishes we tried were not appetising. The decor needs work. I’ve attached pictures of the various items of furniture that turned me off the experience and this was after we asked to be seated at a different area of the restaurant.A good glance at the ceilings and the walls shows so an interior in desperate need of a new coat of paint. Some of the decor has turned brown with age. The TVs are out of place and don’t help the ambience.In general the place is in great need of renovation. Those menus alone are cumbersome and unwieldy.Despite the lack of care and attention, there were some nice pieces of art that hung on the walls. Otherwise, the best part of my meal was the Sprite I ordered, closely followed by the spring rolls.UPDATE: It’s the day after and one of the guests I was with has caught a mean stomach bug. We won’t be going here again.

This place is a cool and safe place where you can meet some clients who need a quiet place to discuss business matters. The place opens to customer from 11am till mid night. A bottle of smirn off goes for $3.5 or N1000. Nice place to be!

A very nice experience. Ill recommend it to anyone looking to have a delicious fresh meal with friends or alone. Service was fast and staff were friendly and smart. They actually allow guests charge their phones in any of the power sockets and have high chairs for babies. Food isnt cheap but its worth every kobo. Ill definitely visit over and again

You know how it doesnt matter how good the food is when you have to share it with a battalion of flies?Just as well, the food was no good.Ill admit, we were initially taken by the view and the overall look of the outdoor seating area. But we quickly forgot about all that when we noticed that the service was 2/10 - delays, noticeably dirty uniforms, etc.The steamed prawn dumplings were 6/10, but took REALLY long to prepare for some reason.The steamed rice was literally just plain boiled rice which would be fine but it was also a different colour to white.The beef in chilli was the only thing that didnt have a hiccup.Overall not a good experience. Would not recommend.

A lot of good food, great view and lovely ambience

A quick stop at the restaurant for my cousins birthday! Lovely food, they also have a sea view which was very nice and a seat for kids . I was served an expired bottle of Coca Cola (. It expired that same day I was served), I complained and immediately I was offered a free glass of chapman and lots of apologizes . I would recommend them 😊

The food, ambience, customer service was really nice. What I was dissapointed about was a mandatory service charge (put on the bill (outside of vat & Lagos State Service Charge). This service charge is a tip/gratuity for the service. Although in Nigeria, this is not a common thing, we will typically drop a tip (between 10% - 20%) on the table depending on quality of service. But not that a restaurant will make it mandatory.When asked, they noted it Marcoplos Managenents decision and other Chinese restaurants in Lagos charge it. Now, Managements decision that will affect the customer needs to be communicated. I will expect a notice on the wall or even easier, put a one line item on the menu. Whether I read it or not, once i order from the menu, i am accepting that charge. At the end, that amount was removed from our bill and we happily paid. I still left a tip as I normally would.Update - 22nd February, 2019I went back there today (1st time after the above review) and guess what? They properly updated their menu & included the service charge note to it. The Management actually remembered me, came over to identify that they have updated the menu based on my comment. I was impressed, sad & blown away at the same time.Impressed - That they actually corrected themselves & updated the menu (even if it is so they do not loose money from me)Sad - That they new the correct thing but did not do it until I brought up the issue.Blown Away - That one person can actually make a difference. I will attach new menu..Definitely had to take a picture.P.S. The food was good as usual.

The food is nice but had a very terrible experience. I have always ordered take outs and did order exactly same dishes on Dec 20 for pick up on Christmas eve, only to get home to see the portions I ordered were replaced for drastically smaller portions. This portion review happened just before Christmas meanwhile you are told the Large portion special friend rice can feed 3. A very bad experience and service for the holidays.

The food was late even on a week day. The chapman was rubbish. The food was juts ok. The wanton soup was fantastic though. No temperature or hand sanitizer protocol on entry. The waiter need more training. He carried the food over our heads and forgot things. The order came in scattered.

This Restaurant is a rip off and a scam. How can you ask that I pay NGN 2,745 as tax over an overpriced food of NGN 12,200. That’s daylight robbery. The pasta doesn’t even taste so good. But main issue here is the exorbitant/fraudulent VAT, Service Tax & Consumption Tax.I advise anyone to never visit this restaurant. There are many other Chinese Restaurants in Lekki / VI who won’t extort you like this and even serve you better Pasta.

Nice Chinese

The waterfront view is the main highlight of this restaurant. The food? Not so great. Its largely a hit and miss, a hit for some (like their special fried rice) a miss for others. Honestly for the view alone Id give it a 5 star. However food is the main reason I go to any restaurant and Ive had better Chinese meals at other restaurants.

Marco Polo is great. The food is delicious and comes in two sizes. Though the medium is big enough for two in my opinion. They have great cocktails. The price can be considered on the high side by some people but reasonable to others. The service was great. The waiter was polite and attentive. The decor is beautiful and speaks to the theme of the restaurant.It would be a great place for groups. You can do casual lunches or formal dinners here. Theres was also the outside seating area close to the water that had the most breathtaking sunset.All in all, Marco Polo Oriental Restaurant was a delightful experience.

Marcopolo without a doubt will always be a restaurant I would return to any day & any time to enjoy a good meal. The meals are great and the ambience of the new place just makes you want to seat and enjoy the scenery.The menu is your typical oriental menu with a variety of options to choose from. However, you will have to be patient after placing your order, as the meals are usually made fresh.The outdoor seating area will be a great spot for the evenings, where you can enjoy sea breeze.Service levels were okay, but could do with some improvement.

Marcopolo restaurant was a pleasure; parking was enormous so no pressure relaxing in the cool environment within the restaurant. Guests are met and settled to a table suitable to their size. The inner restaurant has a view of the waterfront and residential areas of Ikoyi. The waterfront has a jetty and there is a seat out overlooking the jetty.The environment within the restaurant is cool and the waiters were never too far away.The food was delicious and portions are reasonable for the size of food required. The sizes are small, medium and large attracting more money as the size progresses.The experience was awesome and definitely recommended.

I visited the Kingfisher restaurant by the sea side and it was a great chill spot.Their food was amazing and the writers were super responsive... It was breezy and the music was nice!

While the food and ambiance were surprisingly good enough, the service wasn’t. The servers weren’t polite. They messed up our order every single time they took it. The sever who got the order wrong would then argue with you; what you said vs what he heard. They weren’t rude but they were not professional at all. It was, to be sincere a horrid experience. This place is too pricey to have this sort of service. They need yo fix this.

Decent Chinese food, albeit a bit spicy at times.Decent decor inside. Staff are generally responsive.Food usually comes in a decent amount of time. They dont always have everything on the menu.Prices can be on the high side.They have other express shops that deliver to home, at cheaper prices and similar food quality with decent servings.Overall this is a better experience than those shops.

Before I go any further, I must disclose that I know the owner of this chain. He is a family friend. This is one of 3 locations in Nigeria (2 in Lagos and the other in Abuja). This is the closet to Americanized Chinese cuisine you will find in Nigeria. The presentation is amazing and service it to notch. The waiters are polite and each guest is treated with respect irrespective of the status. When in Nigeria, I often eat here. Highly recommended.
