It was an interesting one,a nice and peaceful environment to be. The food is indeed a soul food π,mehnnnn. The fish fingers and chips taste is still there,my taste buds have not gotten over it,its the special fried rice for me. The milk shake is topnotch. I had a wonderful experience there alongside my friends. You guys are amazing soul food ππ₯°
Heard quite a buzz about this place before I finally stopped by. Its easy to locate as it is just by the side of St Finbarrs road. Not a big fan of their opening hours as most restaurants in Lagos close pretty late. However, the menu is quite diverse and I love how traditional meals were added. The drinks selection gives enough to choose from. Food is affordable and plenty. The service was quite delayed and getting the attention of a waiter required having to walk up to them at some point. Food took a while to arrive and the drinks came even much later. Didnt particularly enjoy the Mojito ordered. The aesthetics of the restaurant is good for photos and the styling accommodates different seating for different number of people.
The experience was a bit shocking to me as it was the first time I went to a Lagos restaurant and there wasnt space for me and my friend on the two occasions I had visited. They said they where over booked although we did get a space later but we had to wait for like 10minutesThe restaurant is simply too small and gets maxed quickly so I wouldnt recommend you visit during its peak hoursThe food itself was quite good and the quantity was fair enough for the price and the milkshake I had was also nice. The also do seem to have nice staff but I feel staff going to help take pictures when you have people waiting to be attended to is quite funny but I get it.The ambience wasnt quite up there but its a sure place to hangout if youre really looking to do to much or spend too much
Nice restaurant. Food is freshly prepared. A cool and serene environment. And a nice place to take pictures. And the food... hmm... tastes great. I had a meal of Triple meat pasta and I would definitely recommend. The drink I had, Lemonad was great too. The taste of the food is one I will not forget in a while.
Nice ambience, COVID-19 protocols well applied, staffs well coordinated, good lightening π€ππ» that I got this beautiful pictures of myself π€©π but sorry to say this, my first day what I ordered wasnβt satisfying, I ordered for coconut rice what I got was our location version of palm oil rice I couldnβt eat half of it, and it was so upsetting. After that day I tried their seafood pasta and it wasnβt bad. Just an improvement in the meals every other thing is perfect π
I didnβt go to the restaurant physically, ordered my food over the phone. I spoke with Oluchi, she was very polite and helpful.I got the yam nachos as a starter but it was not so great... the toppings were good but the yam chips had a bitter taste. The spaghetti was really nice and a lot for one serving which is worth it for the price that was paid. Would visit the restaurant physically soon enough.I still recommend the place because of the service and affordability.
I had a good time. Food was good, atmosphere was serene and the waitress was calm and attentive. If you are someone who loves serene environment especially in the morning or afternoon, you can come here. It gets busy in the evening and night. As you can tell in the pictures, most seats were empty and that was because I went there before the busy time of the day. You can stay as long as you want, have good conversations and enjoy the comfy seats. If you love nighttime coupled with beautiful lights and bubbly atmosphere, 5pm till 8pm is appropriate.I had Chicken and chips with Fruit Punch ( a mocktail). It was heaven. The best mocktail I have had in my entire life, no jokes.Enjoy your visit and remember to take pictures βπΏ
Iβve been here twice and would definitely go again, the customer service is top notch and the food, I loved the coconut rice and plantain. Thereβs little or no parking space, itβs not so big but the space is well utilized. And thereβs the picture couch where almost everyone takes a picture π
I want to take my time to review this restaurant cos woooooooowwwwww !!!First things first, I had never expected to find a restaurant this good in the street it was(no offense)β¦ itβs like one youβd find on the island or GRAβ¦. Had my mouth wide open for seconds cos whatttttt !!!!The place is beautiful, nicely painted and neatly spaced. I totally recommend that you go with friends so youβd have someone to take you nice photos.Okay moving on, a little while after we placed our order, we were served peanuts in a clean enamel saucer (Iβm guessing to keep us busy whilst waiting for our meal)Our meal arrived in about 15 minutes, itβs the fastest any order has gotten to my table this year πππ.Our waitress was amazing, the staff there are so welcoming and I love it.The meals:This was good, and it was quite a lot for the amount we paidβ¦ I paid twice the price for something less with bland taste on the island π₯²π₯²π₯²π₯²The Price :The menu is quite affordable N10,000-N15,000 should cover your meal, cocktails and you should have a little change left. When we were done eating, we were offered minty flavored sweets (everyone loves a good breath after all that feasting). They didnβt have to but they did and it was quite thoughtful. The Restroom :Neat enough, 8/10Can take 1 individual at a time, I donβt think it would be easily accessible in buzzing hours.Would I return ?If Iβm in Lagos any time soon, definitely !!Do I recommend?π―, They put in effort to satisfy customers, you wonβt regret it !!!
Soul foooddddddd!!!!Hmmmmm, here goes:The ambience: okay, getting to this place was tricky because itβs in a house, let me explain. You know those houses that the owners are abroad and just want it to generate funds for them instead of just laying around rotting? Yup, thatβs the concept of this restaurant. The restaurant is in a house(upstairs) and thereβs a foam company downstairs so keep that in mind so you can access easily. The ambience: The interior was really nice, well lit and different section with different vibe so Instagram influencers, kill two birds with a stone. The service: the waiters were really friendly and relatable. The food: okay, I donβt want to be biased but to me the food was subpar. Donβt get me wrong, itβs not totally bad but I just expected more(my fault). We got waffles and eggs to eat in and pasta to go. The waffles were a bit hard to swallow and the pasta was alright. Overall, the food wasnβt bad.
Loved the ambiance inside. I didnt expect to see the kind of setup that was inside. The exterior was quite elusive.Theres a wide variety of dishes on their menu. The custom service is great! Food tastes so good. I think I had one of the best cocktails there.I loved the arrangement of the seats and the luxury feel of the restaurant. Theres also a photo booth for free pictures. Although at present, the road is under construction, parking space can be found by the road side or at a designated makeshift parking lot across the road.
Honestly I was sad on getting here because it wasnβt what I was expecting from pictures. It was overly crowded, small and noisy due to the population. My food also wasnβt what I expected, the minced meat was something else. Plus I think their jollof rice is unnecessarily expensive. I just tried to have some fun when I took some pictures with their backdrop. Oh! And yes their staffs were great. Asides that wouldnβt recommend to anyone looking for somewhere private and cozy.
The atmosphere is very calm and beautiful as shown in the picturesIt looks bigger from the outside but the space was well maximizedThe menu was okThere was nothing so extravagantIβd wings and fries, by far the safest options lol and it was coolNot too expensive as wellThe drinks werenβt so greatThe service was top notchThe waiter assigned to my table was really patient and even went ahead to take pictures of people who askedAll in all, a cool place to hang out but too cheesy for a dateLol
One of Akoka fun place right now and since theyve been open. You should go for a date here, the staffs are well trained, well dressed and well behave. The dishes are nice tooGive them a visit
The meal was pretty nice. The restaurant is small but nice decor. They did a thing with that picture-space.
It has a lovely ambience, affordable and delicious food to. Fast service.
I really liked Soul Food. Initially, I questioned the location but as soon as I was inside, it was very cosy and our waiter- Elias was the best anyone could ask for. He was cheerful and offered to take pictures of us, even showed us the best spots for pictures and boy can he take dope pictures .. We ended up leaving with a whole new album lol! They have an African and American menu. I had a tropical smoothie and my sister had a strawberry milkshake. They were sooo good we ordered some more to go.Then we had the mini pancakes with shredded sausage and an egg, a chicken burger, chips and wings, and pounded fam with seafood Okro. I tried everything except the pounded fam with seafood Okro and it was all worth it. We were so full when we left I was waddling LOL!The restaurant is small but the staff are very warm and lovely. Id recommend it for intimate gatherings, hanging out with friends etc.Its more pricy than other mainland joints but its worth it.
Triple meat pasta at soul food is my best. Very tasty and spice free, suitable for person with ulcer ailments. Soul food burger is everything they wrote in the menu, from the bacon, cheese, egg,. Soo fillingπ
The money you spend is really worth it. Portions are not just enough it is large ( I dont eat much anyways).Really nice place. Ambience is okay although they were playing Christmas songs when it wasnt Christmas.Food is really tasty I had the Chinese fried rice.
Perfect interiors and the food is absolutely tasty except the creamy shrimps pasta. Perfect cocktails too but orders take too much time to be delivered.
I definitely enjoyed myself here. Affordable meals and large portions, nice aesthetics and friendly waiters. One of them offered to take pictures of me π
Situated a few meters from St.Finbarrs College, Akoka at 52, Finbarrs road. This restaurant is situated almost quietly . There isnt so much parking space so you might need to park by the road side or anywhere else.I left details about the food as captions on the uploaded pictures. Look out for Elizabeth and oh Ive forgotten his name but they did offer good service. All smiles and willing to patiently attend to our requests. The menu was quite brief and I liked that . I would have loved to see the option of juice and water on the menu too .Theres plenty room for JPEGs π.No. They dont offer karaoke or live band services.No. Theres no wheelchair accessible entrance either.Convenience. βοΈDo have a good time. I did. That was more because my friend and I decided to let loose though. The ambience , I love, love.Weldone Soul food. Theres room for improvement.
So I was out in Lagos and I got to meet the beautiful for a date @soulfood.lagosFirst thing that caught my attention was the glass ceiling. As a student of literature, seeing a place named Soul food having some sort of mirrors that reflect your soul, it was perfect. They had the smallest and most practical menu i had seen in a while, making it easy to decide what you want instead of reading a textbook in disguise and remaining confused. The staff was really courteous and service was fast. In fact it was one of the staff that took the photo of me and my date(first slide).Dining here was also budget friendly, no ridiculous price tag or charge for aesthetics.I had the best Colada ever, only place that can rival that is @cafechrysalis in Ibadan. I over stepped my bounds by having the loaded fries(was filled with regret immediately I saw it) and spicy wings while my date had regular fries and chilly wings.I had their special fried rice to go and damn! It was good.Ill definitely be visiting @soulfood.lagos next time Im in Yaba Lagos.Bill - 16,170 (cause I had take out that cost 5kplus)Budget - 11,000 naira would take you on a date here so budget is low/mid.#foodvlog #foodie #foodblog #foodvlogger #foodreview #foodcritic #EatWithQay
The ambience is lovely. The service was really nice. The food filling. The price is reasonable too.
Id start with the parking, its a bit small but they were creative with it so its quite adequate for this area. The lovely ambience, decorations and optimization of space is a 5 out of 5. The bar seems well stocked with high chairs in front. The toilet was clean and decent. They adhered to covid restrictions by ensuring hands are washed before entry. The music was a standout point. Jazzy and mellow. Definitely what the ambience needed. The drinks were okay, Id say a 3.5 out of 5. The milkshakes could be creamier. The Prawn Pasta was good. The Pancakes were good but could have been fluffier. The Soul Food Burger was good and creamy but some ingredients didnt feel fresh. Food and drinks were good but always room for improvement. The wait time was long, I assume its cos they are a new bar with an increasing daily clientele. The staff were very polite, helpful and took feedback really well.Ergo, for a new restaurant they show a lot of promise once they perfect their craft ππ½Update: On a second visit I notice a lot of improvements. Most of the above mentioned issues have been fixed. The Prawn Pasta was good, would be great if there was more prawn in it. The Jollof Iya Daisy was great as well. I enjoyed the chicken and plantain. Took the Daisy Delight this time and it was lovely, the prominent pineapple note gave me vibes.
Lovely restaurant with good ambience, nice decor & lightning for pictures, easy to locate too...vanilla & chocolate milkshake was good, the jollof rice not so much...The con-its not disability friendly as you would have to climb stairsπ₯Ί
Finding an affordable restaurant that has a good ambiance around Yaba has been tough.Iβm glad I found soul food because their menu is affordable and the surrounding is beautiful.
New spot in town π. Affordable menu, I also love the Kiwi daiquiri drink, solid. Quite a small space, so you might want to book if youβd like a group hangout there.
Good ambience in the restaurant though the building doesnt reflect that. The food is quite expensive (a platter of 12k could not satisfy 4 people conveniently
Very Beautiful space but the food is not as great as the ambience. They could improve on their menu and their meals.
A new state of the art restaurant located in the heart of akoka along St. Finbarrs road opposite Zenith bank. Perfect serene environment and ambience for dates; customer service relations is 99% positive and also various meal choices, from appetizers down to desserts.
Nice spot. Really like the ambience. The decor is alright too. And the food tastes as good as it smells. Totally AMA-ZINGGGG!!!
Very cool environment with fair prices and great customer service.
Great ambience, Good food, nice staff. Liked it there. It was affordable too.
Good food, parking is abysmal, service time is long but overall a nice ambience. The charges are snuck in on some items - water, takeaway packs etc. I would recommend for a very casual lunch date.
Cool atmosphere
Nice place to hang out
A relative new restaurant still in its early stage. While their interior is picture perfect when it comes to their food they are still finding their foot.Iβll return in 2 months time to see if theyβve improvedFollow me on Instagram @OpeyemiFamakin for more restaurant reviews
Itβs the customer relations for me. Very excellent customer service from the car park to the staff inside the restaurant. I recommend for anyone.
Good ambience, not so great meals though.
Pretty chilled. Werent a lot of people probably because I went on a weekday. My waiter was very nice. Food was also nice and filling.
Amazing place . Great ambience. Well decorated with great furniture. A cool place to take pictures, plus the Ac dey blow well, enjoy fresh meals on the mainland and nice champagne, mocktail, smoothie etc. their pancake is π₯π₯π₯. Keep up the good work and great maintenance of Soul Food. Itβs quite affordable too. Good customer service too. You can even call to book your meals and come pick when ready or they deliver. My love for good food π . Their Iya daisy jollof rice is filling and everything mehn.
Itβs a cute space, the outside doesnβt do the inside justice, their fries is really nice, Iβll give the spicy chicken a 5/10, their Chapman was nice Iβll give it an 8/10, had their strawberry milkshake it wasnβt bad, their triple meat pasta is definitely an 11/10. Overall itβs a really nice spot thatβs on the mainland and their pricing is great. Would definitely be going again
Itβs cozy and affords you a bit of privacy. The staff is thoughtful and nice. Plus itβs instagrammable and thereβs a dedicated spot for pictures. The food is nice/filling and not too expensive as well.
Erm, what can i say? The food was the only good thing during my visit. They had light issues for over 30minutes.The AC wasnt working adequately. The space was so hot. Also, the AC isnt big enough for the space it has to condition. The mens bathroom is so tiny they could fit just one urinal. I wonder how thats supposed to enough for the amount of foot traffic they experience.TL:DR they need to do better.
Staff take great pictures..
The place is relatively calm and the space is well-managed.
It was awesome. Enjoyed the food, comfort and customer service. But they charged for takeaway pack, not cool.
A very nice ambience with quality service experience and good tasty meals
Nice restaurant good meal I can beat my heart
Amazing food and ambiance
The restaurant has a pleasant ambience. Customer service was top notch
Good service, good food, good atmosphere. Will definitely be coming back
Excellent food. Great taste, great ambience, great service. A 5star experience if I say so myself. A must visit if youre in Yaba, and definitely bucket list worthy!
The food is really great Nd the interior is cool
Cool Ambience and amazing food!!
Great ambience,Lovely welcoming staff,Tasteful Food.We reserved a table for a surprise pre-birthday lunch,I assure you it was more than I expected. Oh also try βjollof iya daisyβ I havenβt gotten over that delicious food yetβΊοΈ.
Food is delicious AF. Service is amazing. Beautiful decor. One of the best diners in Yaba.
Its an affordable restaurant by restaurant standards. As at July 2021, their fruit punch and spaghetti bolognese were about NGN2,500 and NGN4,000 respectively. The food is relatively much when compared to other restaurants I must say. Staff is cool. The place is a bit small buh cozy nonetheless. And yeah, I love the interior color blend. All white tables with gold rims and adorned with bottle of flowers and a black, reflective, well lit ceiling. Not bad.
It was so warm and felt intimate their service is topnotch and they know.just the right music to set the.mood.on...the food is a 8 over 10 for me, sweet and just the right amount of spicy, strawberry milkshake π π π is lit, lets just say, if I am ever in the area, ill definitely stop by again .
Its really awesome. The food first the price too!
Really Nice Ambience
Beautiful restaurant in Akoka and quite affordable too.
The food is very goooood...Dont judge by the size
Its a small space but well managed... The sitting arrangements are ready nice and the food was lit
My first time at Soul Food Restaurant with my adorable friend.I must first commend the staff. They were nice, polite and helpful, yes there was this really nice dude with dreads who was ready to take nice shots for customers, which is nice.I wasnt very comfortable, Id say like a 6 out of 10. The place is not as spacious as Id expected, on busy days you might not even get a place to sit in time. The double seater tables are not comfortable, and youd be asked to sit there if its just 2 people, especially when theyre fully booked. We ordered our drinks first, of course, if youre going for milkshakes, the Chocolate flavour is the best, I loved it.The food didnt take long, which is good, taste was good too.Overall, I had a good time.Catch up with me:Instagram - @tolukuksYoutube- Tolu KuksDishes:Special Fried Rice - N4800Loaded Fries - N2100DrinksMilkshake - N2800Table water - N550
Cool Ambience, Courteous, helpful staff, Great food; too spicy, but the helpings are massive. Weekends are a gamble, the crowds are usually more than the place can take, either you get lucky or you wait a while to get a seat. The Manager assures that come 2021, they plan to expand. Overall, i had fun.
After hearing a lot about this place, I tried to pay the restaurant a visit. Unfortunately, I couldnt locate it as the location on Google is incorrect- this made maps direct me to some restaurant.Another downside was the fact that the road to the restaurant is really bad. Did I mention that the environment has major security challenges - especially at night?Im really not sure why the restaurant chose that location for a restaurant with so much potential.
Been here twice and I can say their pasta is one of the best on Lagos Mainland. Cozy environment, friendly waiters and a worker who knows how to snap bomb photos. Also, I order from Soul Food as it is close to my house and their delivery is swift. I think everyone on the mainland should try them out.
Large portions, wait time for food longggg. Food is tasty. Their loaded fries and yam nachos is good
Nice place
Great Ambience. The toilet could be better.
Their food is amazing. I had to go there again to clear the images of good food from my mind. Cool place to take your lady or hangout. So chill.
They have a very good photographer
Great food; Great customer service
