First of all,I had my best soup there! Best seafood soup man! The sushi was really nice too, being that Im not much of sushi fan,I enjoyed this one,ah then the ramen, wasnt too impressed, seems like it was indomie they used😅,but I forgive then,the other things we had was worth it,we left with a 45k bill🥴 two people... Ohh and the waiters,very professional especially one tall slim dark guy. He did good, overall,I strongly recommend. Yeah I took a Pina colada too,was nice,I enjoyed my time there,went home full!

Food - 70%Drinks -90%Ambience -80%Service- 100%My return to Izanagi a year + later was delicious!🥰I almost never give a restaurant a 5 star but I must say the improvements make it impossible not to.II had a four course meal that I really enjoyed , I chose to dine deep inside the restaurant in one of the inner rooms with these nice wood-paper doors, but you also have the option to eat outside on the patio surrounded by plants or in one of the other sections, each seemed to have its own ambiance.The service was amazing, the staff were polite and attentive, and I loved how far they’d gone with the culinary design and aesthetic quality.Personally I think we could do with a bit of range with the menu. The choices for each section seemed limited in a way. Perhaps a live cooking option too.But all in all I give it a 5 star, I’ll definitely be back here again.Oh and the sushi was amazing! Literally my favorite order that day. It’s a makizushi ‘sushi roll’ that had sushi rice (cooked) on the outside then cucumber, crab (raw) & avocado. It was rolled inside out as well.It came with soy sauce.___________________________________________Dumplings (shrimps)Basically this was a piece of dough that had shrimps in it. It also came with its own dipping sauce.___________________________________________Seafood YakisobaYakisoba is basically a stir fried noodle dish with vegetables/beef/chicken etc. But this was seafood yakisoba, so it had calamari, shrimps & vegetables. The food was delicious but the level service was horrible one of the waiters dropped food while serving on some of us but there was no compensation nor any apology from the management.The amount of new restaurants opening up in Lagos State there should learn to treat their customers fairly snd most importantly with respect.Very Awful Experience,😕😔.

The food was delicious and the staff was amazing. Was there for dinner and we ordered a bottle of sweet wine, a salad for starter and forgot to take a picture because it looked to yummy.It was good we decided to share the starter because the portion was large and good for 2 people. It had some crunchy beef, tomatoes, lettuce etc in it. For mains we had the land and sea combo to share which had beef, lobster and rice to go with, it was delicious of course with my chilli on the side. We ordered glass of cocktail and it was really great. Now the dessert was all that, we had the chocolate lava cake and ice cream. It was like a brownie and ice cream that was extra delicious, warm and crunchy on the outside with a delicious vanilla ice cream. The lava was the melting of the ice cream on the warm cake. Almost everyone was ordering that so I guess its a best seller. When I got there they were working on their outdoor space and I took a picture of that tree. This tree is beautiful and provides a natural cover over the out door space. It looked amazingly beautiful. This restaurant is a MUST visit in Lagos. Keep it up.

The service was disappointing. Ordered for crunchy sushi rolls. Had my favourites- shrimp and salmon rolls left over, that I wanted to take home and eat in front of the TV. The waiter came to put it in take away packs and accidentally threw the plate on the ground and the sushi rolls fell on the floor. No problem. It can happen to anyone. They offered to replace them. However, they did not replace them with the shrimp and salmon but with plain sushi rolls. I guess it was more economical for them but extremely disappointing to me as a customer.

Amazing Food, Amazing Service... Izanagi is one of my favorite restaurants in Lagos.Chris the head waiter is an absolute star... If you don’t know what to order just leave it to him. Trust me you wouldn’t be disappointed

Good for group outings! This place has got great ambience with good, colorful and tasty food- as far as Japanese food goes. I enjoyed the dynamite shrimp the most. Our waiter was very efficient as well.. Heres a tip: order your mains alongside the starters because they take a long time to prepare.

I heard about this place and I must say the reviews were correct. Its expensive but if you are smart ( I wasnt) you can have a decent meal under 10k. Nice ambience, good Japanese cuisine, I mean Japanese people are eating there as well so thats a good sign. I will definitely go back but maybe on a date next time, that way you get to try out your partners meal and share a bottle of wine or sake, and get a sushi platter. My takeaway N3k! 😭

Perfect for a romantic dinner with your spouse. It also has a nice view of the street. Serene ambience, classy music. Amiable staff. Whats not to love about this place. Their cuisine was delightful to say the least. And not just speaking in glowing terms for the sake of it. The all-round experience gave one that lighthearted feeling of soaring in the air. The price is fair and you should take your spouse there for a nice evening treat. Youll be experiencing The Orient without going to the Far East. Excellent!

Yum yum yum is all I can say. Very beautiful spot, with an upstairs and downstairs sit out. Very helpful & attentive waiters. I requested for sushi the day I went & through the helpful explanation of the friendly waiter I was able to order & enjoy my meal. Unlike most Japanese restaurant, I had the option of eating either the real sushi (raw fish) or the cooked or partly cooked fish.

I love the sushi here. My friends and I used to come here a lot when the previous manager Bernard was there. He knew what to serve, we didn’t have to bother our heads with the menu, and the orders always, always turned out great. Last time we visited he was no longer there and we had to order some things with the help of the manager at the time, sushi was great as usual, but I made some mistakes in my order( ordered something I didn’t like), got them packed as take out but never ate them.Still a very great place.

Nice, cozy place for meet ups. Food is very pricey here relative to the food portions. Service was very slow, though the sushi platter made up for the wait when it arrived. Beautiful pop of colour delicately laid out on the platter! It was so delicious I forgot to take a picture 😅.

Went there for valentines with the wife last night, havent gone there in over a year. Last time I went there food was a 5/5, after my experience last night, not so much anymore. Raw fish used for sushi was 100% not fresh, the first thing I could smell as i walked in was the fishiness of the raw fish, I confirmed it as soon as I saw the pale colour of the fish resting in the fridge. The fried rice I ordered had chicken that tasted terrible, Im pretty sure the chicken has been in that kitchen for months, the shrimp in the fried rice was no better, I literally got solid pieces of shrimp in the fried river, never in my life have i seen shrimp with such texture. I saw them serve sushi that was prepared and resting on the counter for at least an hour before being served. Dishes that were meant to arrive hot were all served cold. Although best thing about last night was their fast service.Its sad that a restaurant once considered the benchmark of Japanese cuisine in Nigeria has been reduced to such quality.

Best Japanese food in Lagos. I love the fact there are no hidden charges here. The price displayed on the menu is what you pay! Perfect sushi, with wasabi that tastes like what youll get in Osaka. Ive been to Izanagi more than a dozen times and not once have I been disappointed. The customer service is great. The wine selection is nice. Its my slice of Japanese food here in Lagos.

I am so disgusted at this place. I always go with my friend almost every week. Today I sat through 2 hour traffic to get there and when I arrived the staff just ignored me and wasn’t even gonna bother to acknowledge until I asked were they closed and someone said yes I asked why. It was 3:30 and the sign said 4. They didn’t have answers. Very unprofessional bunch. The food is okay but if you’re just visiting then skip it and get Japanese when you get back home. Not worth the hassle unless you’re a local and have no other choice
