Once upon a time, it uses to be the toast of the city. A beautiful, lovely , well planned layout with all the amenities, services and structure in place. For the absence of a university, one could leave an entire life without leaving its confinesA enviable mini city. Now the story is quite different.Hopefully the moves to restore it to its past glory take hold.

Festac town is one of many federal government of Nigeria’s housing projects in Lagos. It was originally built for the hosting of FESTAC 77 (festival of Arts and Culture) that was held in Nigeria in 1977. The town that used to be the pride of a nation is now a ghost of itself that needs to be renovated.

Festac Town is a government housing estate. It has been an old estate but has been well managed such that even as old as Festac is, it still look neat. The streets and roads and houses are well numbered such that locating a street, road or house is very easy. It is well secured as almost all the closes has security guiding the entrance. They allow passage of Okada riders, tricycles to some limits. The buildings are mostly bungalows and blocks of flats.

Apple junction always busy and going back to Lagos Island from Festac town via Apapa - Badagry express way from 4pm down is hectic, because of the traffic posed by the heavy duty trucks... The traffic is rough and your car may get scars with the absence of traffic officials, ppl drive any how just to leave that area.

A safe place to live/lodge/engage in businesses. It has seven major roads which are: First Avenue, Second Avenue, Third Avenue, Fourth Avenue, Fifth Avenue, Sixth Avenue, and Seventh Avenue. The electronics hub in Festac is located at 512 road. You can get food and clothes at 23 road market which is being reconstructed from the year 2021 - 2022. A two bedroom flat costs 10 million naira, and rentage costs 600,000 naira pa. The most available job in Festac is Teaching which fetches an average of 50,000 naira pa. The most lucrative business is running of restaurants and the trading. The less secured part of Festac is 6th Avenue. This is because of the canal at 6th avenue which gives access to boats which are not being monitored/regulated.
