I found the hotel on booking.com, it came with a very decent rating and I did not regret making the decision to stay there. From the ease of locating the place, to the pleasant staff, to the warm and friendly front desk staff - Richard (who had, out of his kindness upgraded my room to a mini suite), to the warm ambience within the rooms occasioned by the wonderful combination of painting to effuse an earthly, deeply refreshing feeling within them, to the well arranged furniture and furnishings, the sparkling clean bathroom and the hard, comfortable bed; I felt at home from the very first minute to the last.I however feel the shower is getting old and needs a replacement (this is a trivial pursuit for now but one which can mar the experience if left untended).I have referred friends and colleagues to the hotel and will visit again.

Kabachi hotel is a specialist bed and breakfast hotel situated in Ikoyi Lagos, which is right in the middle of Victoria Island and Lagos mainland. So ideal if you don’t want to be too far away from the international airport or nightlife in Lekki phase one.One of the hotels key selling point is that it features a Chinese restaurant serving a range of Chinese cuisine. It also features a bar, a lounge and outdoor seating/patio area. One could easily come here for lunch or visit the lounge/bar in the evening for drinks irrespective of whether they are lodged in the hotel or not. The venue of the hotel is secure too. There is a range of room choices available; standard, deluxe, and executive. I was lodged in the standard room which was slightly smaller than average. Rooms are very clean, and the décor/furnishing is modern and of a good standard. The eyelet curtains were draped, the floor was tiled, and I didn’t see any vermin for the duration of my stay :)The bedding was decent. Pillows were soft and comfy although the duvet wasn’t as thick as I would have liked but the bedstead frame kind of made up for that. There was a bedside chest of draws which had 2 outlet sockets for charging devices and 2 lamps/light switches which is convenient if you are a bedtime reader. My room came with a small balcony with a floor to ceiling sliding door. The entrance of the room also had a small separate area/corridor. This enclosure gave the room a very private and homely feeling. The room was equipped with a mini-fridge and kettle. The water heater heats water relatively quickly and the water pressure in the shower (which many hotels in Lagos struggle to get right) is decent. The Wi-Fi connection was good 80 % of the time and the Chinese food from the restaurant was really tasty.I did experience a few teething problems though; when showering some of the water leaked onto the floor. The bathroom ledge by the mirror (which I kept all my cosmetics on) wasn’t too stable either - however, this wasn’t the case in the executive room where my friend was lodged.Staff bring breakfast to guests each morning by default. Which is good but then if the customer doesn’t want it, it causes unnecessary wastage. There was too much variation with what I received for breakfast – each day I was given a different combination. Oats with two sausages, then Oats with sausages and beans, then scrambled eggs, toast, and tea.I also ordered some small chops which were brought to my room in a carrier bag without a tray or serviettes. I couldnt understand why it wasn’t put in a dish. The kitchen Isn’t 24 hours. Although I was able to microwave food during the day, I wasnt able to do this after 8 PM. I also struggled to order food from the hotel kitchen after 8 PM.I was disappointed with the ironing because I always felt like it wasn’t done properly and did highlight this to the manager. I had to also remember to have my clothes Ironed in the morning/early afternoon as the person that Ironed wasn’t available when I wanted to go out in the evenings. The most disappointing was my experience of checking out where the receptionist was rude and quite disrespectful during the process of settling my bill. He was upset that I had made queries about the bill because I was provided with two different types of receipts (one handwritten and the other a formal receipt from the Chinese restaurant). The whole time I was interacting with him the music on his phone was playing loudly and he had a very lackadaisical attitude.Overall not a bad experience. I would come back on the condition that the points raised in my feedback are addressed
