Chevron estate, Satellite Town, is an estate built by Chevron Employee Membership Cooperative Society for it members who are employees of Chevron Nigeria Limited. It was built in the early 1980s and could boast of a Cinema, an event centre, Sport centre, a large water reservoir, good roads and well-lit streets. The houses had no fences or barriers separating one from the other.From recent visits, the estate is no longer what it used to be. Maybe it is a fallout of the current economic situation of the country. The cinema no longer works, the recreation centre closed, street lights non-existent. Each property is secured by high walls (fence), as a sign of the level of insecurity in the land. The road leading to the estate, from Ilepo bus stop is very bad, and gets worse during rainy season.But the environment is still neat, calm and serene.

The estate is remote and difficult to navigate without a vehicle .Motorbikes are not allowed into this estate.There is no estate security yet.Hon. Oghene now Senator of the federal Republic of Nigeria lives in this estate.There are some really low cost housing facilities here available especially to those that cannot afford the cost of accommodation in the high rise areas of Lagos.

Neat and safe environment with basic amenities e.g. water and light provided. The residents are warm and welcoming. Ceremonies are usually conducted periodically in the estate field . Family homes are available and hardly are they boys quarters for single folks. Homes are mostly owned by workers of the company.
