Afara Leadership Centre, simply and fondly called Afara by those who know her, has given me an opportunity to learn and grow while volunteering to help others. As a young professional, I began to volunteer (part-time) at Afara about 8 years ago, when I first moved to Lagos. Afara, a project of an NGO - Womens Board (Educational Cooperation Society), provides all round formation for young women, for eg. in the context of its Leadership Development progaramme (LDP), study techniques course, etc, etc. I derive great joy in mentoring some of the young women who come to Afara and have built long-lasting friendships with them. This has given me the opportunity to relate with a wide variety of persons, thus enriching myself and also learning to be a better person and a better mentor. Well done Afara for all the good work you do in forming women leaders of tomorrow and thank you for providing the avenue for me to contribute to this ideal.

Afara leadership center is a very wonderful place. So beautiful and serene..

Its a safe space for young ladies where they are nurtured into great women. Theres so much to learn at Afara and the environment is friendly and the people, open.
