I and my brother took the train from Lagos to Ibadan.Take off station was in Yaba (Ebutte meta) ,you will walk down where you will meet security personel and a meter greater (how may I help you ) who will direct you to the stand to purchase your ticket and a stand to register (your name, phone number, seat number and destination)The price range are from :1.2500 -Economy Ticket which has 88 seater2.5000-Business Coach which has 56 seater3.6000 -VIP Coach which has 24 seaterTake off-time on weekdays from Lagos to Ibadan is from 4pm while on a weekend it’s 8am (vice versa for Ibadan trip down to lagos)There is one stop at Abeokuta. The train is well equipped with charging port,Ac,Television and Toilet.I think we are paying for the Toilet because to me it’s expensive and very very slow compared to road Transportation. The duration of our trip is approximately 2hrs 30 minute(still slow for a Train)I just hope we will be able to maintain the train remember Our maintenance culture is poor also the tickets needs to be Automated.I dont have to go to the train station to buy my tickets.Another observation is this: the train stop station is in Moniya in Ibadan once you get there you need to take a cab that will drop you at Iwo road. With the cost of the train tickets + cab to iwo road (from moniya ) that’s an additional extra charges compared to a Bus transportation which has lots of bus-stop parks.Note : You need a valid means of identification to purchase your Ticket.
