Lovely open air place of fun and relaxation
Never knew there was something spectacular behind the massive walls I often pass by in this area. The statues and artworks here are pleasant. Love the fact that each statue and artwork has a description and short story beside it to explain what it means. I enjoyed the gardens and greenery. There are relaxation sheds and stages for live shows and performance. Entry fee is N200 per person and the parking is free.My first time here was very enriching and fulfilling. I quickly began to recall my thoughts and had a sense of belonging with the various historical relics and notable personalities that had been immortalized.
Cool place to hangout with great live performances on some nights.
Cool for relaxing
Freedom park is one of my favorite Friday after work chill out place before moving on with other plans for the start of the weekend. I love to eat the deep fry giant fish in the company of female colleagues who can stay out late. Its my secret bribe to them for all the harsh and frank attitude I might have put up during the work week.
This is a great place to visit if you want to learn a bit about Nigerian history and the slave trade. Come to the place at night for a concert and i can assure you that you will not be disappointed. There often is a variety of food options but be prepared to pay much more than you would on an ordinary day in any other part of the city.
It is a cool, serene environment to relax and hangout with friends and family. It has live bands on some days and music that wont want to make you leave.
A great park, with different showcase of beautiful arts. The park is free to roam without restrictions, theres a gallery and a food court for relaxation. There are also opportunities for shows by artistes, comedians and live bands. A real serene environment.
A nice chill place with history and culture, food and drinksI like being able to get bottles of Palm wine here and fried yam. There is a smoothie bar and a vegan spot has been on this site, long before vegan was a thingThere are a number of galleries with occasional exhibitions and ground with statues and green. The site of an old prison, the original cells are unchanged in size.
A nice open place where you can unwind or relax in the evening. You can also get lucky to have an entertaining live-band while munching on delicious meals and drink. Lest I forget an entry fee of N500 is applicable.
This is not the right location and its misleading. Scroll down Broad Street near general hospital or Ganiyu Smith or Campbell Street... Thats where Freedom Park is. You will the right reviews you need there.
Located at the heart of Lagos, it is a good place to relax, take pictures and chill. There is always an event here, whether live music or poets performing.Nice environment too. There is a restaurant serving mainly African dishes, but you covered if you want snacks too!
Erstwhile Her Majestys Broad Street Prison, Freedom Park is a memorial and at the same time a leisure park right in downtown Lagos Island. It is a great example of the transformative power of redevelopment particularly of a disused facility with obvious dark past.Commissioned 8 years ago after some regenerative works by Architect Theo Lawson, Freedom Park is now renowned for arts, entertainment, dining and generally hanging out with buddies. Over the weekend, you are almost certain to catch a performance, play or concert. You can also lounge around the park gallery by taking in all the artistic pieces including recreating some relics of the old prison to give a sobering moment which can be banished with gastronomic exercise of good food and assorted drinks.A great place to experience calm and tranquility amidst hustle and bustle of the Lagos city.
Nice well organized
Perhaps a very nice place for all with its cultural concept.Freedom park is safe for adults and kids, every minute spent is fun.
Had a good time participating at Comic Connect there yesterday. Freedom Park makes good use of its space.
A place for seat out in the evening or weekend most especially when you really want to relax the mind by taking time in looking at crafted arts. An historical place indeed
