The 3 stars are for the Amazing service and decor. The plants and zodiac gave a near magical aesthetic. However the food was disappointing, I had a 23k lunch and it was literally nothing to write home About.Now I take my meals very seriously and when I go to a new restaurant I make sure I’m having a 2-3 course meal for proper evaluation.I’ll start with the Pomegranate mousse. The top layer was smooth and creamy, the bottom was dry and unsavory. It also didn’t look very great, not sure what they put as a garnish but those were not mint leaves and the presentation felt almost tacky. Not something I’d try again.I also had one of their main dishes, A seafood paella with shrimp, snail and octopus. The rice was soggy and tasteless, I had to send it back to be dried up and properly cooked, I also had to ask for salt and pepper but in the end I still couldn’t eat it. Dumping broiled seafood with no seasoning on wet rice can hardly be called a paella but okay.I don’t know what the hype on the drink was but these people literally put a horizontal orange peel in it that was haphazardly cut and I’m not sure if it was a mistake or just bad culinary design.But like I said…the environment looked great, service was great, just don’t expect much from the food and limited menu.

It is indeed The Observatory Beautiful view from the sitting area. It is an indoor space with the pros of an outdoor space. parking space limited but well coordinated.Though my initial order off the menu was unavailable, they had a very nice way of passing the message. It is a good smokehouse. The food was good.

Beautiful place with an awesome ambience.The food is quite exotic so it’s not your typical restaurant menu. The selling point has to be the restaurant interior though. Half glass half steel.There’s greenery inside to shade the glass roof and the pipes are exposed. Also has great lighting for good pictures. Definitely recommend for high end date nights.

A more befitting name for this place would have been The Greenhouse, seeing as a lot of thought went into the plants and vegetation decorating the restaurant. The seats positioning gives an interesting view of the Admiralty Way. Didn’t want to leave due to how clean the air inside was.When it comes to pricing, the menu is slightly pricey. The drinks option was diverse. Wished the food menu had more options or pairings as it was a tad difficult to pick what to eat based on what was available. The food ordered was however, delicious and arrived in time. We got complimentary bread and sauce before the main meal arrived.Atmosphere of the restaurant generally is great. I did not like that the toilet in-house was being shared with a bar downstairs.

Very beautiful place, great for pictures if you like to take pictures. Food and drinks are reasonably priced for the value. Food was great. Reasonable parking space. But the food took a while before the waiter brought it. In general, it’s a great place and great food.

Do not go here in the daytime. The interior is black and the ceiling is glass. You will get baked. Anyway, you know that thing that happens at Lagos restaurants where they either decide to focus on being an objectively good restaurant or try to sell people on how cool or exclusive they are? These folks appear to have chosen the latter. A fine choice if youre doing business in Lagos, to be honest, but not a choice that I personally respect.

Absolutely loved the foodOrdered the sambal rice and it was really tasty. Almost had me ordering a 2nd round 🌚The waiters were friendly, patient and attentive. However, there seemed to be so many of them waiting so few tables (maybe it was just the day I went)Their drinks were good as well. Not outstanding but better than what youd get in most establishments.Would definitely visit again...

My experience at this restaurant gets me questioning the authenticity of the reviews on here. Shey they pay you people to say something nice ni? I did my birthday dinner here, and had to keep apologizing to my 20+ guests. Go here at your own riskkkk!!!Food: 2/5 The tozo pie and the garlic bread (which came free) was my favourite. And then the mash and bao bun. Everything else was average at best. Some meals were salty, the snails sauce everyone here is raving about was absolutely oily and borderline nasty (see photo). Pizza was a joke, the oil floating on it was enough to fry plantain, !! we couldn’t eat it, and nice of the them to say we shouldn’t pay for it in the end, because we complained. Oxtail stew was another joke, we didn’t eat up to half of it cuz we couldn’t stand it. My advice to the chef- chill on the salt and oil , please! The bar is the only thing holding this place up, my peach ice tea was an absolute delight! And everyone else loved their drinks too.Customer service: 3/5 90% male waiting staff need training urgently. They are unable to multitask. My friend told one to re-warm her food which was brought cold, as he was going another friend asked for a coke, and I asked for a bottle of water. The coke came 30 mins later, and never got my water. I asked them to help light the candles on my cake and bring, had to remind them 3 times and go to the door where they were standing before it was finally done. The only reason why I rate them high is because they were polite and respectful.Ambience: 4/5 beautiful space- at day. Very gorgeous backdrop for pictures, absolutely love the greenery and natural lighting. At night however, it gets too dark as there isn’t a lot of artificial light in there.

This is a really beautiful place. Had a birthday dinner to celebrate our friend. The team did really well to ensure we were comfortable. We had this delicious garlic sauce that came with the snail. I had the peppery sauce and it was spot on. A lovely very place, hanging plants decor. The drinks also tasted delicious. Will definitely go back.

Nice ambience but Quite pricy

Nice place. I totally loved this BBQ platter, so yum. However, the food and drinks took a long while to get to us... Asides that, I think it’s a really nice spot and a lot of people haven’t discovered it yet. Btw I think the DJ is Lit.

Got here at about 8pm, it wasnt so busy, they kept to the COVID safety regulations in terms of spacing, but they didnt have alcoholic wipes or hand sanitizer on each table. The interior has a lovely earthy vibe, accentuated by potted plants hanging from the ceiling, a skylight roof, black walls, grey booth chairs and black low back dining chairs. The low back chairs were quite uncomfortable because it forces you to either seat upright with no back support your entire meal, or rest your back too far from your meal and table.The food tasted amazing, I had the Seafood and Barbecue Platter, I could tell that the chicken and turkey was properly marinated before grilling, it was so soft, practically falling off the bone. 😍The service was ok, they were friendly, but it seems the waiters dont have proper training in terms of interaction with guests, and sequence of service; my plate wasnt cleared even though I was done eating.The blender used at the bar was so noisy, and the music was too loud for such a small space on a Wednesday evening.

New spot on the block and I’ve had my eyes here for some time. A summary of my visit would be “Underwhelming”The Space: Firstly I got there by 3:30pm and had to wait till 4pm as that’s when they open, understandable could’ve done my research. The space is pretty and florid, very cool for drinks and chills!Tbh it was smaller than I expected and not private, tables were legit facing each other.The Drinks: As I couldn’t have the food because they had a kitchen problem and almost everything on their menu was unavailable (my first time ever experiencing this), I decided to try out their drinks and not just leave so I had the “Blue Sea” (was not on their menu- the waiter explained that it was a special that was being worked on), for this drink I’ll give a 6/10. I could taste the Jameson in it and it had quite an attractive look, the alcohol was also not pungent which was good. The drink presentation and quantity was not exciting. I also had the “Old Fashioned” this cocktail was below average for me, all I tasted was the hard whisky 🥃, nothing else.Extra gist: Both drinks cost N5000 each, total spent was N10,700 with VAT. The waiter also seemed dubious, gave me a receipt for one saying there was an error but I insisted to do a POS payment and got debited for the right amount (he charged my card twice, weird). Also getting the waiters attention was quite difficult, a lot of waiters but they didn’t seem attentive. I was also charged 5k for a drink that costs N4k according to the menu and the waiter explained that there was a price change. I honestly think The Observatory is big enough to have a digital menu cause I didn’t get the discrepancy in the menu price and billing.Once again, the drink presentation was MEH...

I read reviews of this restaurant before deciding to dine here and was surprised that there was not one complaint about their food so I decided to see for myself and I was absolutely impressed! Great food, service and ambience. Only thing is their wine menu isn’t extensive(I wanted a sweet white). Overall I’ll give it a 9/10.

Before i visited i heard bad reviews however i was happy with the food, service and ambience. Its a relatively small space tho. And prices are a bit steep. However the good was nice and the ambience was lovely. Parking wasnt that great.

Love the food here. EVERYTHING we ordered was yummy. The only issue you may experience is the wait time to get a seat in the evenings. Calling ahead to make a reservation doesnt really change much because youd still end up waiting.

The ambience is perfect; flowery with natural lighting during the day. Staff were very respectful and pleasant. Good customer service; food came in time and the environment was good. Prices were a bit expensive but generally had a good time😁

One of those places that look way better in pictures.. It was so disappointing we pondered leaving, low quality decor, dirty menus.. but.. the food was surprisingly good. The most memorable being the smoked snail in garlic butter sauce, really special. Staff could do with better training too. Cant rule out a revisit. Well see..

I had an amazing experience here. The food menu is not too extensive so youre sure they know what theyre doing and everything is always available. The food was very tasty and the drinks were great.The customer service was excellent and they definitely pay attention to their guests.Will definitely recommend for an evening of good food and drinks.

Fantastic ambiance and good food

Good atmosphere, the bar tender was friendly, the strawberry mojito was awesome, the regular mojito was just ok.The waitstaff are pretty bad, someone took my food order but didnt place the order with the kitchen, after about 30 minutes I asked a waiter to check on my order and he said the kitchen just closed. All the waiters denied taking my order. I probably wont be going back there to eat.

It was ok, but not up to the hype on IG. Most of the dining areas were reserved for pre-booked groups. The service wasnt immediate despite so many waiters standing idle. Limited food options and small serving portions. The ambience was ok, but the resident DJ was playing loud music instead of house music. The toilet was at the basement and quite a walking distance from the dine in area. Weird! Just pre-book or come during low peak periods.

If you havent visited the observatory, you have to. The flavors, the textures, the wine pairings, the ambience and decor, transport you to a different state of bliss. The first bite of the snail starter dish left me dazed with splendor ( a creamy, spicy, eclectic flavor) , and as I had more dishes like the Bao Buns, the Seafood Boil, the Sambal Rice, the Birria Tacos, and the Tazo Mac n Cheese...i couldnt descend from cloud 9 nor could I stop eating and ordering more dishes, but kept rising in a compounding state of bliss. Please dont take my word for it. Go to The Observatory Lagos and find out the magic of this culinary experience for yourself!

First of all...lets not go down low. This spot isnt kidding when it describes itself as a smokehouse. Literally every dish has the pungent smell of smoke. I think its an overkill personally.We sampled a number dishes and the incessant inclusion of something smoked overpowered each dish. The Sambal rice with pork, the carnivore platter, the bao buns, were just too strong with smoke on the protein. The smoked snail was less over done with smokiness...There was a paella that was literally flooded with liquid. The best dish was the brownie with custard.Service...nothing worth writing home about tbh.I dont recall the manager ever coming to check if we were happy with everything or even anything.First observation: slow. Very slow. The waiter either wasnt on top of his game or was not up to the required standard, because there werent too many patrons to serve. The attention to detail was not up to scratch.Second observation: the manner in which the food comes out of the kitchen is wrong. Waiters should not have to enter the kitchen to collect food. There should be a service window restaurant-side to collect and serve.I will not be the one to tell them to turn down the smoke. I was a customer.I will not be the one to review their service delivery. I was only a customer .I will not be the one to suggest changing the collection point of dishes. I was merely a customer observing.The best part was the DJ setting up on Saturday....Good music, good vibe despite the food and service.I come in ✌....doing better is the way forward.
