Its a place to be if you love arts. Its a private museum owned by Chief Newton Jibunoh. It has a wonderful display of Nigerian arts, that instantly make you feel connected to your roots. The ambience is also something to look forward to. I would definitely love to visit again.
Location is very accessible as its only along a busy hi-way, its not so big but they have amazing historical collections.
A place of Art and Culture.Place good enough to introduce children to Art
A very nice place for the arts
Perfect place for a photo exhibition
This museum is a place to be. The art works in the gallery takes you way back in time. A wonderful setup of a passionate and exposed person; willing to share his history, pain, love, achievements and dreams with the world. This with the aim of inspiring people to follow after their dreams and loved ones. The museum name says it all, as he named it after his late sister: revealing the strength in the blood bond. I cant begin to explain the meaning of the artworks but trust me, youd have a guide to show you around these beautiful masterpieces. The serene environment allows for the growth of healthy relationships, ideas, and an ideal place for study. I must mention the glory of the piano seated right under our heros past and the creative chair of merging the unthinkable in a graceful harmony. Our cultures are ably represented both in Nigeria and beyond. I give kudos to you Doc for this great invention.
Absolutely love the space
Didi Musuem is Nigerias first privately owned Musuem and is synonymous with why majority of Nigerians patronize contemporary Nigerian art. A stellar organization thats committed to promoting the very best of what Nigeria and the continent has to offer when it comes to artistic expression.
The place is a beautiful place to visit with all the classy, beautiful art work....
I had a rather disappointing experience as I expected what I saw on the website or more.
Beautiful place
Awesome gallery. Looks well maintained and arranged. Beautiful collection of images and pictures with well detailed labelling and description.
Please patronize this museum as you can brooding your knowledge and can also get art paintings for an affordable price
Boutique museum
Small but on point, you can buy drawings and fine art here. Sweet pictures of presidents at the reception.
Didis private museum is a cool place if youre a lover of art, it has no access fee and they have exhibitions of different contemporary artists from time to time..ambience and facade is beautiful.
The host was wonderful and very knowledgeable. I learned a lot about our African Tribes in there❤
Absolutely love the art pieces! Every one of them holds a story begging to be told. Great!
Cool
This museum/gallery is small and quaint but has very beautiful art and memorabilia. No reservations are necessary and their viewing hours are free. They have temporary exhibitions and occasionally switch things up so you’re likely to see different collections if you have separate visits that are weeks/months apart. During my visit, I got to enjoy the collection of Uche Edochie and Ayoola’s art.I’m eager to visit again to discover more works of other local artists I don’t know about. The only downside of the location of the gallery is that it is not accessible to individuals with mobility issues. There’s only one entrance and it has a fairly long flight of stairs.
It is a beautiful artsy space with really inspiring works of art
Awesome
Good place to lean about African contemporary art
Easy to find though with minimal parking spaces
Beautiful atmosphere with lovely and timeless pieces
Easy to locate
It was founded in memory of Edith Jibunoh (DIDI), late sister of the founder who died at an early age. The institution was inaugurated by His Royal Highness, Alhaji Ado Bayero, the Emir of Kano who is also the Charman of the Board of Trustees. The inaugural exhibition featured two painters, Kenny Adamson and Adam Ajunam and they exhibited over 75 works in the five-day exhibition. The number of visitors was about 1200. In the words of the then Director-General of the National Commission of Museums and Monuments, Dr Ekpo Eyo, “it was an excellent first attempt of this kind of venture by a private citizen”.
Nice place to spend time by the beach side
Nice collection of exquisite rare artifacts.
As far as I know, Nigerias only private museum owned by Dr. Newton Jibunoh, popularly known as the Desert Warrior, for crossing the Sahara Desert. He named the museum after his late sister.
