Cheap but once its obvious you are not a native of the area prices go up for you, the speakers used for the Islamic call to prayer is soo LOUD some days like today it went off twice in the morning at 4am and 5am and lasted for about 10minutes theres no sleeping through that especially if your hostel is close to any of the mosques or the speaker is facing your direction. It also goes off in the afternoon and evening but those once are not as disturbing as the one of 4am. That aside, a lot could be improved, no hotels close by, no banks, no atm machine, no campus shuttle, no steady power supply, but great wild life especially snakes and scorpions if you are into those, the people are mostly nice but not everyone understands English ba turanchi/ba English is what youll most likely hear even if you take the 2 hour bus ride to the kano city its worse there so go with someone who speaks Hausa because they dont even understand pidgin/broken English, if you go alone get into a bank or a national or multinational company and ask any of the staff who is not in hijab they most likely speak English fluently along with Hausa, so follow my instructions and youll be fine. All in all it is fit for purpose and youll survive, except you get sick and need medical help forget it you may die because before you walk from your hostel to the clinic you are half way dead and the male doctor there is terrible he will most likely keep you waiting while he makes phone calls, chats, and laughs outside the clinic while you along with at least 9 others sit in the waiting area holding your yellow law school health files waiting out of frustration, those who feel their conditions are not fatal will most likely leave and trust in their God, if you are patient youll still be waiting only for the doctor to walk in attend to one person and say its 4 oclock and its his closing time So good luck my prayer for you is that you dont get seriously sick. Youd think this place would be the capital of Suya but you are wrong the suya here is spiced up raw meat avoid it, kilishi is a much better option. But fruits arr the best they are cheaper than most places I have travelled to and you can get any fruit salad mix of your choice for as low as 100naira for 2 fruits. 150 for 3 fruits and you can even get half a fruit for the more expensive fruits like apples which are still relatively cheaper than most places at 100naira and 150naira depending on the size you can get half for half the price. Cabbage and tomatoes are also very cheap at 100naira for a big head of cabbage and 500naira for a custard bucket of onions and similar price for a bucket of fresh healthy tomatoes.
