We had a great time! I hadnt been in over 10 years because I had been out of the country, but it was great just like I remembered from before. We had a great time feeding the monkeys and elephant! We picked a bad day to go. It rained. Well have to go back another time when it isnt supposed to rain so that we dont have to leave before seeing all of the animals. The little shops at the end were great too!
Jos wildlife park is one of the largest man made zoological gardens in Nigeria and is home to a variety of animals ranging from monkeys, elephants, lions. The variety of wildlife and closeness to nature is one of the many reasons why tourists come from far and wide to visit. Not forgetting the epic lovers zone in the park,💋 Everybody is welcome!Photos: @iamphatboii
Twas my daughters first time at the zoo so she was super excited to see live animals. To be honest though, I felt sorry for the animal from the poor maintenance of the zoo. Most of the animals looked hungry, sick and frail. Only thing Ill say I personally enjoyed was the horse riding and the long walk. Hoping things get better soon 🙂
The Jos Wild Life Park is an interesting place to visit while youre in the tin and cold city of Jos. Although Ill admit that the place needs some upgrade, youll certainly have a nice time being around. There are lions that you can look at very close range, theres a big elephant that walks freely within her park, there are tortoises, two big pythons, white eagles, lots of monkeys some of whom are allowed to freely roam the environment. Its a nice place for family and friends outing.A very good relaxation spot with very tall pine trees are available. Definitely, the Wild Life Park is a favourite place of mine. I believe it has bigger potential if given the needed attention. When next youre in Jos, this should be among the places youd want to visit.
It was fun, the animals kept there are good too.
Great outdoor place. The whole walk is about 2.5km. Sadly underfunded by the state, but the staff try to do their job despite the setbacks. Eli the elephant is such a sweet animal (if youll feed her peanuts, please remove the plastic! She can suck them from her hand.)
Used to be a great place but for now its nothing to really talk about, needs investments to be a proper park
Animals are not well taken care of, most animals are not there. Only one lion and elephant, too bad
Very nice and make sure you don’t wear heels there, it’s a long damn walk but the Animals are alive 😃
Nice park for hiking and strolling. With beautiful scenic views. Wonderful experience.
Great wildlife Park
The atmosphere is serene and 100% natural. But its sad on the side of the animals and the entire place needs an upgrade.
This one of the largest man made animal park reservations in Nigeria, with animals ranging from reptiles, aves, etc. It has picnic spaces, a museum, art gallery and eateries. Low cost for tickets as low as #200 only for children and #300-#500 for adults. Located around tudun wada/state low-cost axis, jos south/bassa LGA, plateau state.
Wonderful creatures and had an amazing time the tour guide. More needs to be done in terms of funding.Definitely going to visit again when in Jos
It. Was fun even though there aint many Animals
Great place...
The park has a few rare animals, but can be improved upon.
It was really a waste if time bearly any animals for a picnic it was OK
Its been a while I visited the park but I was happy to see that they had new animals. I believe the place needs renovations and some taking care of but it reminds me so much of my childhood and teenage days which I madly miss so much. Give it a try youd love it...
Serene natural environment
The park is quite adventurous with different nature sightseeing and animals of different kinds, the chimpanzees and the elephant there will give you an enjoyable moment as chimpanzees respond to tourist request for them to dance in order to receive gifts from tourists, and the elephant endless display of excitement seeing people around. There are natural tree canopy that is used for events and great for people to relax. The security here is not great, though there is a military check point opposite the park but people are not well checked in, this requires that when visiting you want to watch out for clumsy and crowded areas for security reasons. There was no tour guard too to guide and tell tourists about life at the park. The recreational point where there are swings and sliders too need some more attention, but the art shop is really beautiful and fascinating with a good artist in-store. Overall I will give the park 4/10, yet it is still one of the place to visit if you are visiting Jos.Gate fee is N200 (adult), N100 (Children), and there is accommodation to go in with your car for your tour at (N50). Massa (baked rice flour) is definitely a local food you want to try out at the park.Yeah, I enjoyed my time here!
Awesome experience, awesome place to be with your family and loved ones.
Jos Wild Life Park,Beautiful place, Professionally landscaped by the British but mismanaged by the Plateau State Government. Its on Miango road, just after Rantiya & ITF Headquarters Opposite Federal Lowcost.I saw a roaring tiger for the first time, that is an experience i will hold to heart till my last. The Forest section is beautiful, The trees are blossoming in full glory.Enjoy your stay
Needs alot of government attention, it could be a lot better if well catered for.
Was lovely the see all the animals
It was so amazing! More animals should be added pleaseeeeee
Interesting park with quite a lot of wild life
Jos wildlife park is an intriguing place, a park indeed. Wide variety of bird and monkeys. First time i saw an eagle upfront. This is a place where you bring children, and they will have fun. The animal placement is fluid. This is the only place I have visited that have a living elephant.Though the maintenance culture is poor, but it remains a great tourist attraction point for any and every body.
I dont know if theres no water in Jos or the workers are just too lazy to get them to the animals. Jos zoo is feeding the animals dirty water, here same thing.
The place is not well kept
Unkempt and poorly preserved facilities. There are still some animals worth visiting though
Fun place to be
The place has a lot of history to it but its not properly maintained
Poorly fed animals
The place is really looking unkept and not well taken care of. The government are not taking care of the place well. Looks like an abandoned museum...
Alot of work needed to optimize potential
As the name implies, Jos Wildlife park is home to a variety of wild animals while trying to keep them in an environment similar to their natural habitats. Animals in the park includes, Lions, Ostriches, Gazelle, a Phyton, Hyenas, Alligators, Porcupines, Parrots among others.
Needs serious intervention. Dilapidated and poor management
The place has good structures and well designed but needs maitainance.
Jos wildlife park is currently in a state of disrepair and needs urgent intervention, funding and maintenance. Both for the facility and wild life. It is well intentioned, well located and well planned, but it has suffered neglect over the years and consequently suffers lack of patronage. These can also be attributed to the security challenges of northern Nigeria as a whole. Nevertheless, it is worth a brief walkthrough (likely unguided) as you can still enjoy good views and sitings.
It was a beautiful experience
The place is dilapidated....the elephant is old and wrinkled and only a few animals are in d park just big and empty
It was beautiful and different.i had fun.
Nice place, needs better management though.
All the facilities are decaying, no maintenance
Good wildlife refuge. More needs to be done in management and more investment.b
Very nice place.
It was fun,good environment
Good place for a family of group of friends to visit.
Because is all about natural things
The pine forest is serene and scenic. It is a wonderful place to relax. The zoo is not in a pleasant state and the animals look malnourished.
Nice place
This place can be better maintained and generate more revenue if the right management is put in place.
Lake of management .
Snap the map before going in... and go with something for the animals, it will make your day
Quite and serene environment
The park needs rehabilitation. Its a heeat place but something needs to be done.
Was disappointed seeing jos wildlife park
I have not met this place yet, I just want to find out if the local population is doing fine due to the current violent events.
Good for recreation and sight seeing. A good tourist area with all kinds of animals, birds reptiles, etc. For any kind of activities like picnic, study, learning and resting. Easy to locate, less traffic, good management.
Interesting place to visit
A very good tourist attraction but the government need to do more in term of modernisation.
Nice place
Most of the fauna (animals) cages are empty
Awesome
It was a nice experience, however the animals are limited
Amazing
The place is not bad shaa, although there is serious need for extensive care to wild animals kept there. The situation of the wild animals living there is not good. There is a need for additional animals to make the place more attractive. My first experience but it wont be last.
The monkeys throw trash its amazing love it.
They do have quite a number of wild animals
Progressively heading to an irreversible death.
The park has deteriorating and needs renovation, and maintenance.animals are not well cared for, everything is wasting away there.
I dont hate it I love the place but we Nigerians dont have patience of making money
Needs more attention!
My experience was wonderful
Its a nce place to visit. There are a number of wild animals to see. However the place needs improvement as it is gradually getting dry
I attended a wedding reception here. It was really nice there with towering trees that provided very pretty coverage. Unfortunately, I had no time to explore and experience the park itself.
The animals were actually well fed though they were in cages. They all looked healthy so thats good
The animals are not well taken care of
The Wildlife Park is somewhere you need to go when next you pay a visit to Jos; from the Elephant, the Spotted Hyena the Lion the Ostrich and some other very interesting and unfamiliar animals. Though it lacks proper maintenance and reliant tourist guidance for a Wildlife Park. The place is overall Awesome.
Serene environment. The animals are not well cared for though. It was still fun enjoying the sights and attractions.
A once bubbly place that was usually busy with a lot of tourists trooping in and out, and home to a wide range of species, the jos wild life park has sort of lost its spark, they still do have interesting animals on display, but the maintenance of the place has been poor and a lot of work has to be done to get it up and running and return it to its former glory.
Poor zoo and poor maintainable. I was here some 30yrs ago (1989/90), nothing has changed since then, rather things are worse. I do not recommend here for anyone unless standards improve.
Its one of the nice places to hangout in Jos. The park is great for a picnic, although the state of the animals is nothing to write home about😔. I still ❤️ the 🐘 pen though
The place is very serene. You can hang out at the pine forest picnic site or take a walk round the park and see the wildlife.
Enjoyed my visit there. With animals like elephant, ox, donkey, lion etc. But they need proper maintenance.
The park is slowly dying. Needs to be revamped. Some animals are there, but need care. Its would make a great tourist site if fixed.
Good collection of animals in a country with loads of them but no maintenance culture. Nice job.
