Felabration at the new African shrine annually is always a great trip. Put that in your schedule for next year October. I could be your plug for maximum fun.
If you are not bothered or disturbed by the heavily presence of smokes, I think its a nice spot to unwind and enjoy yourself plus you could by yourself some nice fabrics and stuffs from shops inside the shrine, watch match, movies or hangout at the snooker game spot. As mean looking or scary some people around might look the environment is actually safe. There are some lurking police who arrests people driving against traffic (one way) regardless of the time so be careful.
Quote a lovely place, reminds one of the good old days, revival of the African culture and pride.Performance is great, a place Id always visit.
You have to watch Made Kuti on Stage, you have to pleaseeeeeeeee... The others are Kings Seun and Femi Kuti Kings, please you have to visit the Shrine if you are in Nigeria or Lagos, beautiful scenery, amazing acoustics. Great live performances. There are rest rooms that have been newly renovated, artifacts at the shops to buy, food and an experience to remember.
It was a lovely experience. I met a lot of amazing people and on their recommendation, I didnt eat any of the food.
Great place to visit. African arts and exhibition center.
Jaz and Africa melody.. colorful place..good night life
Afrika Shrine is an outlet for musical concerts especially for night party lovers. It is also a place for smokers to openly buy varieties of smokes without police harassment. The place is not suitable for children to go by reason of the nature of the place. It is meant majorly for adult who responsible for his/her action.
The New Afrika Shrine is an international reference point. Everything that can be said about it has been said already. The legendary Afrobeat maestro, Fela Anikulapo-Kuti and his legacies are well known. And Fela Kutii, Seun Kuti and Yeni Kuti, with all other important stakeholders, have consolidated on that legacy and it keeps growing. After Emmanuel Macron, president of France, visited the place in 2018, I had to prepare for that years Felabration, an annual international celebration of Fela. Although I had been there previously, the artistic expression and endless musical rendition were breathtaking. Afrika Shrine is more like the soul of entertainment with a heart of freedom. There are instances though when non-smokers would have a difficult time staying there. I was there with Uwemspeaks and he took the pictures.
Come here every time. Its a national heritage site. If youre a fan of Fela and Afrobeat, or maybe just curious, take a drive there one of these days.
This place is Spiritual, I mean what else do you get from a place where the great Fela himself performed. On this day I watched the great Femi Kuti and his son Imade Kuti thrill us with their music and the performance blew my mind away. The place gives me nostalgic memories of Nigeria and I appreciate our development as a country over the years even though it looks like we are slow.Nigeria will be great again if we have passionate leaders who cared about the country.
Memorable but too much croud
Dead place in my books. Very very dirty environment. Cant stand the sight at all.
A place of great cultural values
Felaboration was a success no doubt
Loving the marlians songs and dance
Scary buy nice atmosphere... Dont dull yourself
Its a very good place for those that enjoys night life and enjoys weird lifes not a place for the saints
Its a nice fun spot especially if you do the doπ. If you know what I mean. Free live shows on Thursday nights.
Its my first time in the muzik legends shrine anikulapo kuti its was awesome
Its real african arena for culture display and encouraging artistery and talents and youth activism against misrule in government.
The experience was too notch. The remembrance of the Ledgend in respect of the Late Fela Anikulapo Kuti revolves therein. The most spectacular event to look forward to yearly is the Felaboration event, where everyone comes together to celebrate the Icon Late Afro musical Ledgend Fela Anikulapo Kuti.
Nice place for Fuji music, Environment is not to friendly
A place to listen to music, feel relaxed and dance
Awesome place and nice view. So much fun
Great! We missed the legendary himself baba kuti
A lovely place to relax and enjoy the African experience
Do you need to chill, relax, drink and have some smoke The safest place for shii
Loved the place great music, great vibes and oh clean toilets π in Lagos whats there not to like. Great place to be for relaxationDefinitely going back
A good relaxation atmosphere with lots to eat, drink and smoke, as long as your pocket is beautiful
True to its hype, the location still embodies the ethos of Fela Anikulapo Kuti years after his death. The only was having to contend with high temperatures outside while the seating area inside was more airy as there were fans which helped the temperature situation. The walls are covered in graffiti and quotes credited to Fela Anikulapo Kuti.
Reminds the mind of the streets. Cool experience
Its the Afrika Shrine, no need to talk too much
Affordable fees, Entertaining, Variety of tastes and drinks available
Gooood music to your ears and living in the Bronx/party vibe. For reasons best unknown, if you ever read Autobiographies of Baba Fela and have a photographic memory, you should have goosebumps...its quite easy trying to imagine or relive his great performances and his representation in Nigerian politics
I had the time of my life at The Shrine. An awesome experience, I must say.
Nice place, very fun to be at. Just there it was a little dry yesterday which happens to be a Monday
It was a very lively Serene with 85% person of youths scattered on the street and inside the shrine. Lots of buzz around and good music.
The African shrine is a place to be during Felabration or Friday nights if there is an event. And eve if there is no event, and you just want to hangout. Not the best place to be if you do not smoke.
Lovely Site to Visit but without Underage Kids or Persons who might find Smoke Irritating because Cigars, Shisha and the likes is allowed. Do you want to Play Pool (Snooker) be sure to be very good at Play. Enjoy Life Band and Secured Atmosphere.
Great place for Friday night vibe
It,s about inspiration and entertainment.
The show was superb. Creativity unlimited
Not cool too much smoke had to be on facemask
Its a nice place thats holds some history, and its a good thing that some of that history is still there
The shrine is a spiritual edifice. Mr Babatunde Adeniyi was our host. An awesome fella!
Performing arts theatre for contemporary music, opened everyday a week, but always busy with events and fun on weekends from Friday to Sunday. It make sense to have fun and whine and dine here.Nice place to hangout too.
THE NEW AFRICAN SHRINE is the Home of freedom and top class entertainment. A visit here would make you appreciate Fela & afro beats better. It is a superb relaxation spot.

Shine ya eyes π€£π
Nice experience. First time ever
Spacious, unique in its own way most especially as its accessible to folks from different status. It has commercial hub of its own, but for health reasons, a lot needs to be done, precisely total restructuring as its gradually becoming rough and u kempt.
Beautiful experience!!! I had a lovely time there.
A nice place to hangout
It is the best relaxation spot in the city of Lagos the commercial capital of Nigeria. Its also the best place to listen to live music, it is the Afrobeat music factory where great Afrobeat music are produced to the world.Built by Yeni and Femi Anikulapo Kuti in honour of the great music icon and creator of the Afrobeat music Fela Anikulapo Kuti.
A place to be and have fun. I recommend New Afrika Shrine for everyone to visit.

I liked the fact that the place is historic. I also loved the food and drinks and its African themed interior. But i didnt exactly feel safe there and the environment was not well catered for.
Its the best place you can ever be .if you want to commune with your African Spirit then you are at the right place.
Yes I love Africa Shrine mostly the song and music Femi kuti
Explicitly worth the fun...
A very good place to relax and have the feel of truly African shrine......... you can feel so free to explore your fantasies but the services of the attendants is not good enough.......Management deficiency............
I came out of curiosity and I was really happy I did. For donkey years, Id been passing or driving by. Unfortunately, there was no live performance when I visited, it was still worth visiting. A hang out spot it is. It reminds me of similar afrobeat gigs in Central London with Dele Sosimi, Wunmi and co several years agoThere were barbeque (suya), asun and so on. Outside of here are so various vendors. Overall, its lively, secured and perfect to hang out with friends. A must visit by visitors to Lagos.
A peace of space for revolutionaries and freedom fighters in the black diaspora
You can have fun here
It was super chilled, everyone was having fun in an outdoor kinda way...... most people preferred to sit in and around their cars having fun.... if you like a fun and hyped crowd, this is your place.
Lovely fun place to be, but dont get overtly drunk so much that you aint conscious of your phones....βΉοΈ
