This is the only bookstore in Lagos with a truly bookish vibe ππΎGreat variety of books and its so chill
Ive not been there, but my friends have attended the open mics and events held there. Its a lovely place for literary minds and enthusiasts. There are books from local and foreign authors.
As a book lover, not loving this place would be hard. From the atmosphere, its people, THE BOOKS (my god, the books!)...They also have this fun event they host monthly. In summary, its a really nice place.
If you are an avid reader, youβd love the collection of books Ouida stocks. you love African Literature, you can find books like Prince of Monkeys and Children of Blood & Bones here. There are also books on poetry and and great books for children.Asides book shopping, you can also check out the open mic event held here every last Thursday of the month. Totally love it!
Amazing place. They have all kinds of books from different genres. If youre a book lover, you would absolutely love it here. The ambience is really nice. Highly recommend 10/10
I absolutely love this place, the location is very accessible and the building actually looks quaint. The bookstore has the look of a library and its unique. Either as a buyer or a window shopper, Ouida feels very welcoming. I went there for a meeting but Im very sure I want to come back very soon π
Great bookstore. Their monthly open mic session is the best. And you get to meet the delectable Lola Shoneyin
As a book nerd living in Lagos, Ouida is one of my favourite bookstores.Located in Ikeja GRA, Ouida is easy to access. Its a lovely space with a wide array of books. The staff are great, very friendly and helpful.
Lovely place and lotsa awesome books for my collection ππππππ
It was my first time here and it was refreshing to see a book store with floor to ceiling windows and extra natural lighting. I attended a book review which was held in the main part of the store so we were surrounded by books. I noticed there were a lot of Nigerian and foreign authored books available for purchase, aside from the Ouida published titles. I wonder if they have a reading room too?
This is a fantastically incredible place. It is homey, friendly and hospitable. They have all the books you can think of as published. The premises is clean. There is only one restroom and it is not allocated to any gender. Its the only public restroom. Very small too. The members of staff here are relateble and resourceful.
I was so impressed with the place. They had books of all sorts from motivational/inspirational to educational and entertainment.I was particularly impressed with their collection of cartoon magazines. They had Disney and Marvel cartoons but not just that, they had Nigerian cartoon mags. Id totally recommend the place to any book lover.Another thing about them is that they host book readings and poetry recitations. So even when you dont want to read a book, you can always just visit and listen to authors pour out their knowledge as you engage them or you go get some entertainment as you are thrilled with the best of poetry renditions you can find.In general, nice place I must say
Beautiful place, great books, warm people. Its a good quiet place to escape sometimes.(kinda dont want anyone else to find out)
I am not sure there is a category of books not present in the Ouida store. A piece of advice, if you are a bibliophile, never walk in there with either your cards or wallet. This place will ignite your love for books.
Bookstore by day. Tip: Visit every last Wednesday evening for an open mic where you can enjoy some of the best live music and poetry Lagos can offer for free.
