Its a beautiful and cool place for worship

OAU Central Mosque is referred to as Unity Mosque 🕌 because thats the holy prayer center where Muslims of all denominations observe their weekly Jumat prayer. The Chief Immam is Prof. Sanusi Abefe who doubles as the Head of department, medicine and surgery, he is also a Renal Specialist. The 🕌 is under the control of Muslim community which is headed by Prof. Isihaq Olalekan Aransi , he is also the HOD of Local Government Studies, Obafemi Awolowo University. The pictures attached were taken during the last Eid-ul-Kabeer. The second picture was taken when the catholic priests paid a courtesy visit to the Muslim community after the supererogatory prayer was observed on the same day.

This is a beautiful mosque and the central place of worship for Muslims in Obafemi Awolowo University. It is very spacious, it has a large parking area and it has abundant water supply.The five daily prayers are not usually said here, although you can pray on the corridor, but it is a major Jumah (Friday prayer) mosque. Ramadan night payers (Taraweeh) are also said here in congregation.Events such as marriage ceremonies, public lectures, Eid prayers and so on are also usually held in the mosque premises.
