The 5000-seater African Amphitheatre is the largest lecture theatre in Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) Ile-Ife. It houses a theatre, two lecture theatres and a multipurpose hall. As part of its contribution to the preservation of cultural artworks, the building volunteered to shelter the large statue of Oodua from the scorching sun.
