The university of Ibadan, the first and the best of all universities in Nigeria...The university was founded in 1948 as University College Ibadan, one of many colleges within University of London. It became an independent university in 1963 and is the oldest degree awarding institution in Nigeria.

Ive been a regular visitor and once a student of University of lbadan. It is the first University in Nigeria. It was established on the tradition of British University system that is based on acquiring quality degrees up to Ph.D. The University has gone through ups and downs in over 72 years. Despite the challenges, it is yet the abode of great academic scholars in diverse academic disciplines. University of Ibadan is recognized by some landmark research breakthrough. Not to forget its leading role in the African related studies that are encouraging international students to the University to study.

Premier University of Nigeria. I was quite surprised to see the exteriors of the hostels looking good as Nigeria university hostels are notorious for looking like prison yards. The environment is quite serene and it appears that the management cares about the appearance of the premises. There is working a transport system in the school consisting primarily of keke napeps and cars to various parts of the school.

I was on tour to the university yesterday and I must say, UI (as the university is fondly called) must be one of the most eco-conscious universities (if not the most) in Nigeria. It was quite a big campus, so I couldnt get round every nook and cranny of the campus. Nonetheless, I was able to get to some interesting places in the school such as the worship centres (churches and mosque) which are of very interesting architectural designs, especially that of The Chapel of the Resurrection and the Mosque.I made a visit to the faculty of Arts and also to Faculty of Agriculture, a hotel and some of their staff quarters. The transport facility in place is not bad at all too. However, there are some part of the campus that are bushy which I think the management should not neglect, the area looks like a moat or ditch. All in all, it was quite an amazing experience.

UI is a good school, the first but I dont really like to think of them as the best, I mean they try in their standards compared to other federal universities, theyve gotten past a lot of milestones. But Id say theres a whole awful lot of work to be done if they want to keep it that way because personally I think theyre still living on past glory. Its a school, there are a lot of variables to cover and I have a lot to say about my experience as a student ther

University of Ibadan is a federal government University that delivers the best in terms of education and life opportunities. Their educational system tho is quite slow in comparison to other Federal government Universities. The environment is lovely, sites to behold and blooming flowers and beautiful nature. They have 3 Female School hostel, about 3 Female Private Hostel with others in progress. 6 School hostel for guys and a private hostel which is outside UI premises. Mode of Transportation is fair.

It is a relatively quiet school with a very high academic atmosphere. You feel the stuff on the air, lol.Still has beautiful structures, maybe due to maintenance cus youd be surprised those buildings were since the 90s. Seems they were far ahead of their time. Also has fun places to visit, and you can find or do anything within the school boundaries. Like a proper functioning community!

University of Ibadan is Nigerias premier university and ranks highest among tertiary institutions in Nigeria. It was initially started as a college of the University of London in 1948 and then it gained full autonomous university status in 1962.The school has a rich history and an ever growing list of alumna that have attained renowned recognition in every sphere of life, within and outside Nigeria. In addition to its tradition of academic excellence, I would like to see UI better positioned for contemporary learning that incorporates latest technology and as a citadel of cutting-edge research and development.I’m also proud to call University of Ibadan my alma mater.
