I was looking through the Google map on a certain day and j saw this large body of water in a area Ive always known, I thought it was a bug on the map, so I switched to satellite View and it was still there, I had to read about it and eventually marked it for a visit.I visited it 2 weeks after the discovery, it looks unreal, its even more awesome that I discovered it through Google maps. ☺️☺️

Strabag is a pool of water from the rock. It covers about 400m in length 200m in breath. It is fenced by government, for the safety of the community. If fund is ejected it could form a source of good recreation center.

It is a great place in Ibadan.. I have taken the place as our own local centre of attraction. I could remember a day I saw a catfish as big as my three sitter chair in the lake... It was so awesome

Nature at its peak..interesting view

Awesome site to behold, the lake shows the beauty of nature, with awesome history records, this site can be utilized and turned into a recreational center. Located in a residential area, and provides some sort of calmness and cool weather in the community.Most times this sites floods the area anytime there is heavy downpour, the community suffers from flood which has been largely controlled by the building of drainage.

Its okay for sightseeing

This place needs to be developed... According to residents, the lake is a dreaded one because some familiar spirits have made the place an abode. No one goes close to it...Yet from my assessment as a Geologist, I see its an abandoned mining site. Surface excavations resulted in a gigantic basin. I presume the miners hit an aquifer that recharges more than they could control, and that produced the dreaded lake...I urge Governor Makinde to look into projects like this. It can really take tourism in Oyo to new level...That is Geoheritage preservation...

Great sight, but needs development

Its a really beautiful lake, looks so Serene and peaceful. But now it has a fence around it, we learnt from the locals that people used to get drunk and fall into the lake so the Governor built a fence around it to prevent people from getting in.So we stood at the fence at one of the top points and could see the lake inside, thats all now.We did see a gate at the opposite side tho, not sure if they open up for people to get in, although I doubt that.Oh its also a bit of a hike to the point we got to, so probably dont go when the sun is hot.

Strabag lake is a quiet place with good natural feel of nature all around. One will feel relax and have clear thought when around this lake. Improvement is possible in keeping the environment more tidy and attractive.

Very Serene and natural setting. The lake is a lovely view and very relaxing. I would love to spend every evening here and watch the sun go down. Its a most beautiful site

Not an ideal place to hangout. Poorly maintained too. It is located deep in Egbeda local government of Ibadan. Around Alakia, Airport road. Filled with unkempt grasses and bushes. It has very few visitors and fun seekers. If you want to have fun, dont go there. Few restaurants and eateries around.It does not have a very good view. You might see people mostly during the weekends.

Expecially for children and people who cannot swim.Nice view however for an artificial lake.No barricade.No caution signsThe location is a little isolated so be careful of your personal safety.The depth is not sloped gently, rather its a sharp dangerous depth.I believe the place can be transformed to something better. But for now, history has shown it to be a death trap.
