A Sanctuary of worship and meeting place for the people of God. This, I believe to be the oldest church along the Iwo-Road/Agodi-Gate flank of Ibadan. The church has survived a century years of existence, even older than some Diocesan Archdeaconries in Ibadan.Unknown to dwellers and later settlers in the neighborhood, the presence of the church in the then remote Wakajaye village confered the name Iyana-Church to the major junctions that led to the church then. In specific terms, this is the church referred to by the Yoruba word, Iyana which means Junction in English. And Church, of course -- the Christians place of worship.The centenary year old structure has been replaced by a more recent one that now occupies the site. I must say, several generations have passed through this church and several more will by Gods grace.I present to you, Christ Anglican Church Wakajaye
