The restaurant had great food, and the plates were big. Plus they do take-away packs when you cant finish your meal.Also, they have private dining rooms upstsirs with nice views, and we enjoyed the quieter exclusive atmosphere. The private dining room I was in had a convenience, as well.The customer service is good but there is some room for improvement.Prices are cheap/affordable for the quality and quantity of the food.Altogether an enjoyable cuisine and dining experience.

I searched around for a chill place for a meet up, and this is one of the top recommendations. Very classy cafe with a pleasant and stylish interior you can find a lot of western food here. I got seated and the food was ready very quickly, delicious food with a nice display and a very clean seating area and rest room spaceGreat place to enjoy time alone or on a date. We decided to eat in Roots on Christmas day.I must commend one of their writing, life is too short for bad food. And they proved it today...With their well-prepared chicken vegetable sauce and Chapman on a Christmas afternoon.However, I dont know if it was because of Christmas or unforeseen circumstances...Their service wasnt as lovely as it was the previous time I ate here. They served us the sauce without a spoon, making scooping it tedious work. We ordered a spoon but it took them several minutes before it arrived.Well, if you want a quiet place to eat in Enugu, this is one of the best.

Nice fast-food with a variety of meals on the menu

I don’t think I would be visiting this restaurant when I visit Enugu again, I wanted to try out Emily restaurant as their food came highly recommended but they weren’t open. So we decided to try out this one instead.When we drove in I was pretty much excited, beautiful environment, was appealing to the eyes, had a very African decor, carved animals, rafia mats, African prints etc.When we got in I wasn’t really impressed by the interior, it was plain just a few African prints strung across the room and few paintings on the wall. Wasn’t too clean either as we had started eating b when the tables close to ours were being cleaned and the floor swept.They had quite a robust menu but a few things weren’t available. The presentation wasn’t so pleasant as you can see from the picture, a few rice was strung across the plate, my soup was smeared around the rim of the plate.We ordered Ofe Onugbu, Chinese shredded chicken sauce and plain rice and Afang soup.The Onugbu wasn’t bad but wasn’t what I expected compared to Onugbu I’ve had in Anambra state. The goat meat was too small in my opinion plus there were no enough obstacles in the soup. The Chinese sauce and Afang were richer on my opinion as we ordered fish instead.Their staff, not very professional, she kept going back and forth and left us in the middle of an order to greet other customers who stepped in. Food was overly delayed, service was very slow and they weren’t friendly. I noticed a couple of people came in but left because they couldn’t wait to be served.Another very disappointing incident was my take out order, we ordered fish pepper soup, didn’t look appealing plus it had yams in it, the yams were really hard and the pepper soup had a stewy look. I also ordered for isi ewu but that order didn’t come through, after waiting for what felt like an eternity I was told it wouldn’t be possible. Imagine waiting for over an hour after your meal and then finally leaving without your order.I think they were overwhelmed by the turn out but it’s the festive season, I expected more ends to ensure smooth running, they also need to pay attention to their interior decor. I definitely didn’t enjoy myself.They also have private dinning rooms that go for N3,500 per hour, I didn’t see anything special about them. Their soups cost about N1, 000 exclusive of choice of proteins, swallow N200 each. Their rest room was pretty much ok but can be cleaner and leaving the tissue on top of the dusty window sill was very unhygienic.Overall, the outdoor pictures were the only thing good about my experience.

The environs and location is good but its not a Chinese restaurant....its an upgraded regular restaurant.

Personally this is the best restaurant, they serve really tasty meals and there’s always a lot of options to choose from. My favorite meal from them is White rice and Chicken in Curry or Chicken in Chili. Just give it a try, you’d like it

Such a lovely and serene place to dine in! They sell meals that are so palatable one could cry in joy.They dont offer many varieties of Nigerian meals though. I checked for porridge yam, and one soup but it wasnt available.(Warning!!! I got their Jollof rice, it was very peppery yet so sweet. I was crying because of the pepper but I just kept eating!)

Their fried turkey and chicken is so appetizing, it’s best when you reheat it and oh don’t get me started on their sauce. If you’re looking for a nice quiet place to dine (without greeting people every 30 minutes) this is your place

Wow I love the interior deco and the ambience of this place. Its also well located, it gives visitors different views of the city through the large windows.The food is good I had on first visit coffee (nescafe) and Waffel and on the second visit afang soup. There is always room for improvement the service could use a little more coordination and please please diversify on your coffee options.I definitely recommend this place.

This is my absolute favourite restaurant to visit in the city. Upscale but affordable, family friendly and great for group outings or solo meals. The ambience reminds you of your African roots literally as the interior is decorated to showcase African art and culture. Private dining is available upstairs at a fee for those who may not want to dine in the general public area. Staff are customer friendly and relatable. The food always tastes like a good home cooked meal and the portions are incredibly generous, especially the soups!

I get the best food here. From local cuisines to continental. My only problem is that sometimes the staff are overwhelmed with crowd and will mix up your order. I ordered two plates of Okro soup, which by the way they cook exceptionally well, and the waitress brought one. Thank God for the timely intervention of a supervisor who promised that I will get the second plate in 10minutes. She brought it in 8.The private dining is also one of its great features which can be used for business lunches, intimate dinners, birthdays or any other activities involving few people. Sometimes the private dining are also neglected especially during festivities. In Dec 2019, we waited for more than an hour in Abia dining room and later left because no one attended to us. I urge the management to look into this.The best thing about root both in Enugu and Umuahia is the chefs. They are good at what they do. My compliments to them.

One of the finest buildings Ive seen in Enugu: well lit, well constructed, comfortable climate inside, and a good parking lot. The waiter didnt speak English very well, and wasnt able to tell us what was or wasnt available, so we had to order and see if he would come back to tell us it wasnt available (this happened twice). Luckily I seemed to have ordered one of the few dishes available, the Sweet and Sour Pork. It arrived in a timely manner, all three pieces of it swimming in a nutty sauce with chunks of various vegetables. The pork pieces were tiny and relatively tasteless. What really didnt help was another member of the waitstaff, instead of apologizing and trying to fix the dissatisfaction with the lack of available dishes, made all kinds of excuses for why three dishes on the menu were not available.If youre not sure what to get, stick to the fries/chips, theyre a safe choice.

I really was not expecting much from this restaurant, but I must say, I got more than I expected. The moment I walked in someone walked up to ask for our (I was with friends) preferred seats (they had VIP rooms). The meals came a bit later than the time we were told but upon tasting it, I was wowed. Clean environment and good food. One pain point though was for a 30mins meal, we got it after about 50 mins and a number of menu options were unavailable so our choices were restricted though the meals were tasty.

The decor is African but in a really nice, modern way. The general ambience is calming and theyve got quite a nice variety of affordable dishes. Their milkshakes and Chapman drinks are really awesome . and theyve got private dining on their first floor.

Tasty meals. Very uncomfortable dinning table set. No leg room under the table. Since the decor theme is African, why not go all d way and use cane tables and chairs, but make them comfortable.

I like that Roots is a family restaurant. The decor is nice and the menu has a nice variety so its easy to find something to eat. I visited on Easter Sunday so a lot of families with little kids came in which made it a bit noisy. They have private dining areas upstairs if you want more privacy or dont care for noise. The food was ok, everything tasted fine but I would have liked more seasoning. I didnt like the toast that came with my meal though. All round its a good spot to dine alone or with a family/group.

My favorite restaurant in Enugu. My friends from Anambra have never stopped talking about this place since their last visit. I love the setting and decoration in African style. Their service is classic and standard. Love the fact that I can actually try new meals and not regret it and also eat local meals and enjoy it more. Its just sad I always have to wait a long time before Im served but the meal is usually worth the wait though. Their menu is not for show. They actually have most food in their menu available.

This is one of the best fast food and restaurants in Enugu in my opinion. There services are wonderful and their meal is good everytime. Im yet to have a bad experience from this place.

This place has great food. The ambience is alright, has an African vibe to it but there were flies on both occasions that I visited. They claimed to not have menus but some Chinese men showed up and suddenly the menus appeared. Lol.The place is a bit confused, theyre not sure if they are a restaurant or a fast food.Anyway, the food is really really good so all flaws have been overlooked and Ill definitely keep visiting.

Like it’s other branch in UMUAHIA, Abia state, it has very unique options when it comes to food and the quality is superb. From regular meals to pastries, good value for money is gotten. The menu is awesome. The staff are very polite and welcoming. It is also easily accessible. There is a little wait time for some of the more complex menu items but other than that a Highly recommended place to visit.
