Very busy and popular place. One of the busy market in Benin city. Most times cause traffic along the road like most markets in Benin that are mainly located most to major roads. The market environment is very clean which is a unique features of most Benin markets.
Get fresh food stuffs from here. Located in benin city
There things are very cheap and good
Here at Oregbeni Market you can get all kind of vegetation foods and soup items for a favorite meal, I love vegetables very much.
Local food like plantain, yam, fish, crayfish and e.t.c are found at a low price here
Oregbenni market is a fair place to buy food items..And items a cheap too.
This is a very old market at Ikpoba Hill. The market connects with Jemila on one part, Ramat park on the other and it is situated along the Benin - Agbor express road. It is very easy to locate from slope since it is on the hill beyond Ikpoba river. Guinness Nigeria limited is a stone throw from it as well as the Old Western Boys High school. Opposite the market is the Mami market due to the presence of Army barrack. You can also view Immigration Secretariat building, Board of Internal Revenue Secretariat. The popular Edo City Transport Company is also found opposite this market for travellers as well as other motor parks. After the market are also other motor parks for travellers either within or outside Edo State. The operate operates at a maximum peak every four market days. You can purchase a variety of goods and services here. Such as water, household appliances, clothes and fabrics, food stuffs like meats, fishes, vegetables, palm oil, vegetable oil, tubers of yam, groundnut rice, beans, garri, yam flour, baking stuff, Santana or fufu, goats, birds that is poultry products, ram, sheep, shoes, bags both school bags, hand bags as well as traveling bags and luggage. Oh I left out stationeries, cosmetics, electronics, even building materials, you can get them here. And the list is inexhaustible, meaning you cant just imagine what you will find here. The market is a major employer to traders of all kinds who trade their wares for economic profit. Its quite expensive in size looking at it from various projections. It has so much many stores in it. It was well planned but for the traders that exhibit their wares in front and even along the major road, one may think otherwise. Sometimes these traders cause huge traffic jam though the state government helps out in decongesting traffic most of the time. It could be very noisy as usual, it reminds me of my early high school days, you could hear the noise from the market even in your classroom every Oregbeni Market Day and guess what the population of students in school reduces as a result too but please dont ask me why. All for the hustle. Just like most markets in Edo state conveying goods and services are done with ease due to access roads and available haulage or transportation to anywhere. When you make a stop over at this market, you shall understand better. Permit me to say that you can also find a microfinance bank close to the market as well as a recharge card or call credit store, where you can buy in wholesale. And a famous and reliable pharmacy is situated in front too. Ogbeni primary is just behind the market. Most private primary schools within Oregbeni community use it as an examination center.
