The Point of no Return is the point slaves were shipped abroad. Its called the point of no return because slaves that get to this place were not returning back home. They were sold from this point.The beach is today is a very nice place to enjoy time with family and friends.

Very beautiful place. It’s sad learning our history about the slaves not being able to return but it’s good to know the TRUTH. The slave trade continued soo long because of both parties and not just one!

I loved how it connected me to my roots, the beautiful view by the beach is something to behold. I honestly feel more pictures to be kept around there to sensitize newbies and the well should be properly taken care of. The uncompleted building should be complete, some chairs can be put there with covers as the walk from the boat stop to the beach is a really long one. Great area for Tourism.

It was an experience, the more you learn about what happened here you are saddened by mans inhumanity to man. #Slavery was a stain on humanity and its perpetrators will one day answer to God Almighty.

The journey to the point of no returns begins at a jetty in Badagry from where you take a ferry ride across to the island of Gberefu. From the island, a 2km walk down the original path the slaves walked over 400 years ago takes you to the shores of the Atlantic ocean where the slaves are eventually shipped off to various continents around the world.Along the path to the shores of the Atlantic ocean lies the original water well, called the attenuation well. Which was spelled by the slave masters. The slaves were made to drink from the well so they lose self- consciousness for about 3-4 months while being transported to their destination.Till date, the attenuation well stands and no one dares to drink out of it.At the shores of the Atlantic ocean, a post-colonial building is being built for tourism purposes. With magnifying viewing glasses to allow you to see far into the ocean.There is a little shack there where you can get drinks and snacks, horse riding and the beach is beautiful and clean enough for a picnic!

This is an historic place. It was the hotspot during the slave era.But this place need to be put together by the government to encourage tourism

Was so Emotional, we had walked the trail on a sunny day with no water.Our tour guide from the Badagry Museum was nice, and got us some fresh ripe cashew fruits.
