This is the gateway between Delta and Anambra state,is also a link between the Eastern Nigeria and South which extended to the western Nigeria. The Traffic in Evenings is serious especially when it rains. I spent almost 1hr on the bridge and it wasnt funny as i ways always not the out look for my safety. Overall ,i think another bridge is needed to easy off this traffic
Constant traffic on this bridge from the Asaba end of the bridge to the point where road safety officials are doing their work.It is a two lane bridge at this time without separation between incoming and outgoing vehicles. The view is great. One of the longest bridges in Nigeria with proper renovation required or a second bridge should be constructed to support it as proposed by the Nigerian government. It is not optional to use.In order to drive or cross into the South East by road, I highly recommend it as there is no place else to cross from the South West, South South into the South East.
Finally got to see the Niger Bridge and the Niger River and it is lovely. Hope the second Niger Bridge is more beautiful than this one. Fingers crossed
Very nicely built and well managed by FRSC who controls traffic. There is also heavy presence of armed security personnel at all points of the bridge.
A historical bridge that still knit the rest of Nigeria together.
It was a beautiful site, but the traffic there is not here o.
Lovely scenery but the traffic was crazy! Can the 2nd bridge construction be facilitated quickly to decongest traffic?
Always busy. If youre stuck here in traffic, its almost as if youre stuck in traffic on CMS bridge. But a very lovely sight for nature.
One of strong bridge built far back n still strong n reliable
This is the bridge that connected the west and east, very strong and well maintained, its only access that connects all the states in the east
The only existing link bridge connecting Asaba, Delta State to Onitsha Anambra state, which gives access to other Eastern states over the River Niger. Its a dual carriage road and usually has stand still traffic because of the amount of people coming in and out of Onitsha. The second Niger bridge is under construction, I hope its completed in good time so as to relief the existing Niger bridge and ease movement.
Oh, my oh my.. I salute the beautifully orchestrated work done in this bridge. Its beautiful folks... I guess you should excuse yourself once in a while and see for your self, how beautiful its.
This bridge is the entrance to Anambra state. Spanning over the historic River Niger, this bridge is very prone to traffic congestion. On one end is Asaba, Delta State and the other is Onitsha Anambra state depending on where you are coming from.It always give me good memories and reminds me that I am home.
This is called East-West Bridge. The bridge is about a kilometer and it links Delta state capital, Asaba to Onitsha, a major commercial capital of Anambra state of Nigeria.
The grid lock there is no longer as much as it used to be
A tourist site... fascinating, and enthralling
This is a landmark around Onitsha and Asaba. This bridge has lasted over time, though now congested. Nice structural bridge.
Bridge head market, especially the Igbo ogwu. One of the best in the whole west Africa.
There is a lot of hold up on this bridge almost everydayThe bridge is to tiny, it was supposed to be wide enough to accommodate at least 6 lanesBut it can only accommodate 2, if it is more than 2, then it is war.Sometimes it takes 2,3,1, or 4 hours to cross this bridge and other times, it takes less than 10, 20, or even 5 minutes to cross.I just pray the second Niger bridge is completed so that the traffic in this bridge will be reduced.
I love this place because it is stressfree and ok to live in
The traffic on that bridge is too much sometimes you can spend close too 1hr on that bridge
Heavy traffic infact traffic gridlock in each passing day.
There is always a traffic jam around the Niger bridge.
A narrow bridge linking onitsha and Asaba. Well constructed and covered.
Old bridge and boundary between Delta state and Anambra State
Still strong and ever busy👏👏👏
Lots of traffic jam along the bridge
I cant wait to drive on the 2nd Niger/Benue Bridge. Federal Government of Nigera needs to accelerate the construction, traffic (go-slow) on the 1st Bridge is too much.
Sometimes the traffic congestion can be very terrible. Other times its good
The bridge is strong and neat
Alot of traffic on the bridge on daily basis
The second river Niger bridge is till under construction but the construction is going still in progress
Narrow road but moving traffic. Hopefully, things get better once the second bridge construction is done.
Nice place
There is always traffic on d brige nd its not good
Long and beautiful bridge though agbero boys plenty for that side, they are stubborn
Usual traffic, though orderly.Moving freely.
Very nice and it would reduce the holdup
Those army and police should leave there, they are causing serious traffic problems
This place is very busy
The traffic situation here is crazy. Spent over 7 hours on the bridge.
The bridge is cool....can get congested though and you might stay there for hours
There might be much delay at times when influx of cars are much. This is basically because the bridge is narrow.
Nice one
Great place to be. Should be a museum
Traffic was much all the time.
Terrible traffic jam! Was in it for 4 hours.
Lovely water view sight if only security operatives dont hinder traffic flow..
Was okay aside the traffic
Nice one
Home sweet home.Relief when crossing the bridge
Major entrance to the east ( igbo land )
Nice road though there is always traffic on the bridge.
Its a very busy place. And there is usually holdup
Amazing engineering. Gateway to the south. Solid structure but usually congested. Hopefully 2nd Niger comes into life soon
Nice Landmark but terrible traffic always
Amazing....Nice experience, one of the biggest bridges in Nigeria,
I rate this place 2 star, though it ought to be a wonderful landmark for us, but it has become a nightmare anytime I remember I have to cross this bridge . Ordinarily its less than 3mins to cross from asaba to onitsha ,but it take over an hour often, to cross from Asaba to onitsha.
Its a magnificent structure, one that the federal government has really interested in and maintained over the years, a true gift to the Igbos. The bridge make a commuter dear the Niger river against all odds. A tourist attraction as well.
The best bridge in South South and South East.
Excellent
Good sight view
The traffic jam on this bridge is something that needs to be looked into. You could spend more than hour or more trying to cross through to Asaba or back to Onitsha.
Hectic and jam-packed
There was hold-up on the bridge right from Asaba end. There were up to three incidents of broken down vehicles on the bridge. No road safety official in sight. Road ahead became free afterwards. Except, for extortion going on here and there by both uniformed and plain clothes people.
Though very narrow but has unique design and strenght.
Its cool
Cool experience
Lovely
Transit bridge into South-Eastern part of Nigeria.
The bridge is aweasome nice site seeing of the Rivers. The bridge has a good construction.
Greater
Excellent engineering but too much traffic
Our gate way
The Road is always Accessible
Nice bridge
Lively at night
Good customer serviceNice rooms
Asides from the traffic which happens once in awhile, this bridge is safe to cross and also has a good views of the water on the sides. Is not too long and there is nothing to be Afraid of.
Best as you can imagine otu onitsha 1
A very busy place, the international textile market is also close by
This is my daily route
