This is a restricted area, so lots of security checks before you can go in. Lovely quiet area. Mostly military personel stay here. No loud music or noise. So if you like it quiet, this is the place to be. Nice joints to have drinks and eat. The popular fish grilled or made into pepper soup is very nice.

Its not a place just anyone can live. It is a Barracks for senior commissioned officers of the Nigerian military. As a result, its very safe and secure and theyre very security conscious. They have all the amenities for good living. Theyre closed to the general public but you can visit on invitation from the residents

As expected, there is a lot of military presence here; consequently, there are security checks before full access can be gained into the property.Wu Bassey Barracks is a large area that houses a number of structures and greenery. This place boasts of its magnificent close-up view of the apotheosis of power in Nigeria, the Aso Rock. There are about 2 mess halls here: the Scorpion Officers Mess, colloquially known as the Presidential Mess; and the Army Headquarters Command Mess, also called the COAS (Chief of Army Staff) Mess. The Scorpion Officers Mess is located by the right immediately upon entrance into the premises, while the second mess can be found further ahead. Both mess halls offer food and drinks at a fair price, howbeit, no accommodation services are provided here. Amongst other things, the Presidential Mess houses a swimming pool, a lawn tennis court, and a badminton court. However, they are only open to officers and honorary mess members. Per contra, the COAS Mess is more open to the public as there is a relaxation spot here where staple and local goodies such as suya are being sold. The main officers quarters harbours about 4 or 5 blocks of flats for officers of the tripartite Nigerian Armed Forces. The ambience is prevalently cool and serene, there is enough parking space, the water supply is constant and the provision of electricity is almost unfluctuating. There are several other structures at Wu Bassey that include the following: a car wash, the Headquarters of the Nigerian Army Intelligence Corps, the Army Headquarters of Transformation and Renovation, a residential building for senior officers, the Army War College, and the War College Participants Quarters. Located in the Participants Quarters are a barbershop and a pharmacy. This pharmacy where cash and card payments are accepted, caters to mild medical issues and basic provisions. Foodstuffs cannot be gotten here but at the neighbouring Mambilla barracks. As earlier implied, access to the general public is quite restricted so be sure to go with a valid ID card while around the territory, and try to maintain the peace (for your own sake🙂).
