Though INEC has over the years been a tool in the Executive arm of the Govt, doing the bidding of the Presidency. But now there is a paradigm shift and for the 1st time the independent in the acronym of INEC is slowly but surely reforming under the leadership of Prof. Mahmoud Yakubu (Chairman,INEC). The level of coordination especially when it comes to contracts undergo close scrutiny and inline with the procurement act.

They are highly corrupt and highly influenced by government in power. All elections we are seeing is either rigged or inconclusive.
