Nigerian Natoonal Merit Award, popularly known as Merit house is on Aguiyi Ironsi Street Maitama Abuja. A Government organisation saddled with identifying outstanding Nigerians to be conferred national awards. The building is one of the oldest on Aguiyi Ironsi Street Maitama Abuja and it is very popular for hosting events of all kinds from meetings to dinners, luncheon and forums and even wedding receptions. The wide range of different halls and auditorium and its location combined with the cost of renting these spaces makes Merit house a sort after location in Abuja. I personally have attended trainings and workshops here and have hosted some here too. There is ample parking space and also workstations for rentals for startups equipped with internet facilities.

The environment as well as the auditorium are relatively standard.

The building is due for Renovation and Rehabilitation.

Its a cool environment for professional meet up, conference and trainings.

The theatre is large however thee hall for parties s very small.

It is a beautiful place for hosting official events. It is located in Maitama. The last time I visited was for my induction into the Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM).

The kind of events that happen here are usually top notch — Dike Chukwumerijes Night of the Spoken Word (NSW), Krump Studios Abuja the Musical, Annual Board Game Convention — but the maintenance of the place is poor, it appeals to show organisers probably because there are few stage and amphitheatre setups in Abuja properly equipped for the staging of grand Theatre shows.The rest rooms are dilapidated and the hall ways are eroding.The good thing about this place is just the awesome shows that they host often.

Its conducive and appropriate for formal occasions.
