This is one really cost space that I just love.My first time here but apart from it being a little packed I think that it was very comfortable and lets out at the right time to ease off the crowd. This space would be perfect for intimate live shows.
Hi there,So heres my experience with Speakeasy cocktail bar. First of all, its an indoor bar within a building, and its medium sized with a capacity of just about 50 people in total I think. The highlight of this bar is definitely definitely the DJ. Now to the break down.LocationAs usual, Id start with the ease in locating this place. Typically its exactly its exactly at 4 Kampala Street but its within a business in a building called 75. So for a first timer it was pretty difficult to ascertain especially in the absence of a signpost or any security guy to give a directive. Thus, this kinda makes you doubt when your google assistant tells you youve arrived at your destination. But thats the only setback in location.Entrance and Car ParkTheres a medium sized car park just in front of the building as you approach it. But the main entrance to the bar is non wheelchair accessible as youd have to enter the building and take the stairs to reach the bar on your right.SettingNow to my favorite part.... So once you enter the door, youre first welcomed by the spot for the DJ and his setup on your left, and as you proceed forward theres the bar top and back bar top your right. This is well decorated with beautifully hanging dim lights to set the mood for the night right. The bar is an inverted L-shape laying horizontally so you have the short arm of the L on your left opposite the bar top and then the longer arm ahead sitting across with couches horizontally. This is exactly beneath the purple sign beautiful the Speakeasy name I posted.Services and MenuThe bartenders are prompt and helpful. Theyre not necessarily nice per say but are swift and diligent. They serve the menu and could help you walk through it.The menu consisted finger foods, full meals, local dishes, continental dishes etc. And the beautiful part is the dishes came with disposable gloves so you dont have to touch your finger foods with bare hands or worry about washing your hands.PricesThe prices for the different items on the menu are very very affordable especially because they have quite a variety for a bar.BathroomAt the end of the long L sitting position, you have the bathroom door father to your right deep within the bar. But this is not a standard public bathroom or bathroom size. Its just a single toilet setting.BackdropThe walkway before the bathroom has a room with a newspaper wallpaper decoration just for pictures. Its a really nice backdrop with a large mirror and tabletop for personal and group pictures. It has an extra door that allows the bartenders straight to the back bar.Altogether, its a solid 8/10 for your indoor partying or celebrations. Trust me, youd love the DJ.
I was here for a friend’s birthday outing on a Friday night; stayed till 1am…I literally watched the place go from scanty to full. The DJ is goooood, love what they did with the walls in their restroom, ate their goat meat and chips and it was nice. There was also a surprise proposal which was nice.My only issue is how small the place and maybe they should do more with their maintenance…the AC just beside me was licking and from the appearance of the AC and wall, I could tell it had been like that for a while.
Great vibe, hype man was definitely hyped. The space is small though and while perfect for getting and intimate cozy experience, can get very stuffy once everyone and their aunt starts blowing on a Shisha pot.
Great place to party hard on a Friday night.Great ambience and of course great music.
Enjoyed it even though it was super packed and I could hardly even stand
Simply the best! I love how understanding and relatable the staff are.
Great ambience, lively and engaging staff, decent chow. Pricier than your average and its on the small side so you might get there and not have a table for your crew.Oh and on a good night theres a low hanging shisha smoke cloud so beware if thats a thing for you.
Friendly Staff and The DJ is amazing...Nice mix of old and new songs
Great night bar with excellent service, live DJ. Dark lighting and good atmosphere
I had the best time. The DJ was lit, the ambience was great.
The place was cool, the music was amazing and I had a taste of the chips and chicken, well prepared ☺☺
I understand that certain tables have their drink prices but deceiving one to go to a table and not giving good reasons why you deceived us was wrong. I will visit again but for now nahhh
For a small size bar it had great atmosphere. We celebrated a date and the side food was spicy and delicious
The Interior design is quite unique and appealing.Very good customer service, waiters were always smiling and they didnt waste time in cleaning up the table afterwards.I expected the place to be more lively than it was though given it was a Saturday, the DJ played a nice mix of retro and modern jams. Had a good time overallThey werent so generous with their food portions compared to the price though.
Theres no signage for this spot but after asking two people for confirmation I found the door. I walked in and was very impressed with how cosy this spot is. If you are looking for a nice private bar, with a comfy ambience and chill vibes, try Speakeasy. The music wasnt too loud so you can have an actual conversation. The menu has a variety of comfort food options and have quite the array of cocktails. The staff are pleasant and friendly. Will defo be coming back.
Great place, but needs more air outlets.
Was super fun, the DJ is lit
Nice place, but the place is too small no space to even dance and the DJ isnt that good just playing song that doesnt make sense.
Its too small, smells badly of cigarette and the staff are hella rude
The prohibition theme at this bar/lounge is really cool. Dim lights, blacked out windows, soundproofed and a lack of branding on the building. Makes you feel like you need to hide your drinks when ever anyone opens the main door. The food is good, and the drinks (I had a gimlet and a long island; the long island was great, the gimlet was meh) were good too. And well priced too. Will definitely go back.
Not memorable as such, maybe I need to revisit
I love it here.
