In the beginning I was wondering where I was being led to, but started enjoying my view from the steps down. The outdoor sitting, shades, some bit of murals by the stairs and flowers, I LOVE flowers. Then I noticed the hanging sign The Jerk shack. Stepped in to this rather Picturesque cozy indoor. Loved the simplicity of the designs. Greeted by polite staff, menu on a tablet and all. Had amazing goat curry sauce with basmati rice and a Guiness punch, my friend had tasty chicken wings and some citrus/cucumber/mint drink. I must mention that the music selection was so nice we were singing along at some point.
The Jerk shack is a nice quaint restaurant with a Caribbean themed menu. It’s set in the basement of the building which shields it from the hustle and bustle of the busy street.Pop into the jerk shack if you’re looking to eat something different or just in the mood for a Caribbean flavour.Staff are nice and friendly. Cash and cards are accepted. No wheel chair accessible entrance but there’s adequate parking.
I am leaving the last star for when I actually go in and eat. Ladies and Gentlemen please help me see the size of chicken wings that the jerk shack sent me for N1,500 *screaming*It is the best wings I have had this far in Abuja ( I am an avid wings seeker and lover). So I got greedy and ate it all at one sitting. I couldnt breathe well or have dinner afterwards but we thank God for mercies.UPDATE: the food was mediocre and I need to make revisits, still maintain the wings are the best
It had the Caribbean feel to it; wooden floors, glass doors, reggae music and very well designed. The staff were very courteous and helpful, plus I really liked the drinks. As for the food, it was okay and cost an average of 4,000 naira for the main course with sides (rice, plantain etc) . The chicken I ate was surprisingly well cooked, though a bit pricey for the portion served. But its worth trying out for a different experience.
As a lover of Caribbean food, I didn’t hesitate to try this new joint in my city. This place has potential and I foresee them gaining prominence in Abuja. However, as much I loved the ambience and the staff who were ever so courteous, I waited too long to get someone to take the orders and after that it took another 45mins for the food we ordered. It seemed like everything we asked for, even cutlery, took nothing less than 20-45 mins to come. I was with friends so we had conversations to drown the wait but I imagine if I was dining alone, I wouldn’t have been so patient. Also, their cocktails had 0-0.1% of alcohol in them, or at least the ones we tried. With how pricey this place is, I think their food and drinks could live up to the service anticipated.
I just had dinner at the Jerk Shack. It is a Lovely Jamaican/Caribbean restaurant ticked in the back of a nice building on the food court area of wuse 2.The staff are friendly and orderly. But most significantly, the owner is a Lovely and beautiful lady, whos one on one chats are legendary, shes very nice, welcoming and always has a kind word for guests at the restaurant. No wheelchair accessible parking or entrance. The entryway is a lovely set of stairs trailed by pretty flowers. The restaurant is fairly priced with meals ranging from 2,500 up for a main course. Drinks are a bit on the high side but are served very nicely chilled. The meals are nice and if you order something to be barbecued, you can see it deliciously grilling at the open fires.Overall, its a cosy place with soft music, coolly conditioned interior and a breezy outdoor sitting area.
Ive never had Carribean food in Nigeria so it was refreshing to find their Jerk Chicken very good. I had that with a portion of Saucy Plantain and Sweet Potato Fries. Nothing to complain aboutI had an Elderflower drink that had Apple and Mint in it (cant remember what its called) but it was REFRESHING!!I loved how quaint and secluded the place was and the service was really good too.
Delicious authentic tasting Jamaican food. A bit pricey, but so worth it in my opinion. The jerk chicken was succulent and tasty but I especially recommended the island (honey glazed) wings.Drool....Edit: Still the best tasting food in my opinion in Abuja. I also realized why its so good. The food tastes really authentic!Go for the chefs special dumplings too. Uses plantain instead of dough.
The jerk shack was a breathe of fresh air. Everything about this Jamaican/Caribbean themed restaurant seems very well thought out and elaborate. The music were all pop hits remixed to have a reggae feel, the menu is also themed similarly and the food was delicious. I enjoyed everything about my experience, the only issue being the price point. This is not a place you can just come into and spend some loose change. A meal and drink comes to N6000, minimum. Aside from the price, everything else was well done, and they also showcased some solid customer service.
A restaurant that truly focuses on the food, great food and a calm cozy ambience.
I cant get tired of the feeling there. The ambiance is good best for dinner for two.
Lovely cute restaurant. Loved the food and the service was apt. Although the Lemonade had some issues but was till good all the same.

Hanging out with friends here is amazing, we had mad fun and the meals were tasty, I was filled up from the first bite
Underrated restaurant very delicious food I will definitely recommend if you want to try something new
Its not so big but I like the feel of the place. I however not being from the Carribbean needed a guide on the menu and had to ask a server who just recommended something basic (wings) as opposed to something more traditional.
The food was so tasty...The food reminds me of my trips to Kingston Jamaica.
