Food is great but the queue can be rather tooooo much. The eating environment needs an upgrade, I believe the owner can do better with the aesthetics of the place. Price is affordable too.

Whats the frenzy about? Nothing special and the food is ridiculously expensive. And those servers who are just rude even at hello? I wonder how that business has thrived

Are you an ardent, addicted, dedicated and traditional Amala fan? Or are you looking for where you can eat homemade, locally-made, healthy and hygienic Amala spot? Or youre looking for an Amala joint to taste it for the first time? then look no further because this is the best place in the Capital City of Abuja. What i like the most is the point-and-chop delicacies and orishirishi, large parking space, serene environment, secured and their food is always freshly made. Kindly do yourself a favour and try the spot. You wont regret it.

The mother of Amala joints (Im for the Pounded Yam though). Variety of soups and meats. GO WITH YOUR CASH. Its like the Village, no POS or transfers option available. Fair hand-wash, ventilation (fans) and parking arrangements.

Service is fast, food taste is consistent with the traditional idea of Yoruba cuisine. Pricing is rather affordable (this is relative though). The ambience is like that of a bukka so you have an idea what to expect hygiene wise. In general, the experience I would say is not bad.

Adequate parking space, food is okay, BUT:-only cash payments taken-servers look tired & talk disinterested-amala is TINY! Attached are photos and you need to see them! 🤦 (For better quantity for your money, others are easily a better choice)-do not go at peak times; if we had to wait at all, it wouldnt have been at all worth it.Good luck to all who choose to brave this place.

I used to avoid this place before. But then the Amala place increased price and cooked tasteless food, so I went here. This womans gbegiri and ewedu is still the best in this Abuja (please let me know if you have anyone that is better, Ill go).Her price is fairHer girls are no longer rude.My issue though is the queue, and the fact that she doesnt accept card payments. I hope she finds a way to sort those out.

As always. A very local place with great indigenous Yoruba food. Its especially known for Amala with Gbegiri and Ewedu soups. However you can still get other meals like white rice and honey beans, pounded yam also. Please not they only accept cash payments. No transfer or POS transactions are allowed. They also dont do delivery.

Review №31

Prepare for a long queue. Also it’s a cash only place. No POS no transfers. There are also no waiters. That being said, if you’re an Amala connoisseur like me, you will agree that Iya Oyo has the most authentic Abula taste in the whole of Abuja. There’s this taste the soup has which is missing in all of the other Amala places in Abuja. I call it the original down south taste. Not too expensive but the Amala portions are quite small so you might need to double or triple up. But for the cash only situation, this food deserves a 5 star review. It was really yummy! I highly recommend.

A taste of Oyo State quality amala in a bowl. They offer the best amala in Abuja but the size is so small. Mouth watering meals. Uninterested and impolite staff. As for the spot itself, it is just your average big amala joint with plastic chairs and tables. Usually very busy during rush hours. Also, this location doesnt allow for POS or bank transfers, all transactions must be done by cash.

Its a typical local joint, with all the prominent delicacies of the yorubas: amala, pounded yam, eba with ewedu soup , vegetable soup, okro soup combined with all sorts of assorted meat 🥩, rice and beans is also been sold. The surrounding accommodates a good number of cars albeit untarred. Its important to note P.O.S, transfer and other types of mobile money isnt acceptable. All transactions are made in cash!.Happy eating 🍲 fellas 😁

So the thing about Yoruba Amala joints is that they dislike change. They stick to their roots. Cash only, Owo, Kudi. Money for hand, food for table.°No transfer option°No Pos option°No internet banking option.°No jumia food option°No 2/3 outletIts disheartening sometimes when you think about it but sadly thats their business model and it has been working so, If it works for them. All the best.We are in the 21st century, yet this business has refused to upgrade. But one thing that is constant and consistent is the fact the food is delicious and tasty. Gaddddam!!!!!!! We will join the Que lets Go!
